We thank them for the work they do year-round with their special ministry and if you're looking for items like this or other craft items - mark your calendar down for November 21st for the next Divinity Craft Fair!

We hope you can join us next Sunday, September 13th for our 2nd annual "Make a Difference Sunday," which will include the ELCA’s annual “God’s Work. Our Hands.” 🤲❤️

With an emphasis on service to our local community and beyond, Rally Day kicking off our new Sunday school year, our return to worships at 9 and 11am - we hope you can join us next Sunday however your schedule allows for this special day filled with community!

Each year, the ELCA designates a day and encourages its member churches to serve their neighbor by completing service projects and/or collecting items for agencies that reach out to the community. As always, we are doing both!

10:00 am - come to the fellowship hall/gym, and help make 500 🥜 butter and jelly sandwiches for the men who come to the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) shelter in Cleveland needing assistance. Additionally, you can sign compassionate cards that will be sent to our members!

12:00 pm - come to the fellowship hall/gym for lunch provided by Parish Life! This is a wonderful opportunity to catch up before we start!

After lunch, help put together kits for Lutheran World Relief and Redeemer Crisis Center, sign compassionate cards for our members, shelve food in our pantry, and pack items for LMM, Community Cupboard, and Parma Heights Food Pantry. 🥫🧃

Can’t stay for lunch or the service project, but still want to help??
You can by purchasing items below and placing your donated items in the collection boxes in the narthex through next Sunday, September 13th!

The following is a list of organizations and the supplies they need:

Redeemer Crisis Center - juice🧃/flavored water boxes, granola bars, individual bags of chips, goldfish crackers, and cookies🍪.

Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry - new underwear, reading glasses 👓, slim wallets, soft nutrition/granola bars and coffee ☕️ (no decaf).

St. Augustine Community Cupboard and Closet - new underwear for women and children and socks 🧦 for men, women, and children.

Divinity’s Food Pantry/Parma Heights Food Pantry - collection will be split between the two pantries: canned chicken, soups with meat, and boxes of cereal.

*If you cannot shop and want to make a monetary donation, place your donation into the offering plate indicating, “God’s Work. Our Hands.” by this Sunday, September 6th.

"When most of us hear mustang, we tend to think of an impressive car, perhaps a song, maybe a regal horse; but there’s also a most majestic place on the other side of the world that bears the name. Dating back to the 14th century, it was supposedly founded and shaped to be a walled capital city to a kingdom where Buddhist religion, philosophy, and art mutually thrived. And although it was able to avoid outside influences with its mountainous enclosed location, it eventually grew due to its strategic location on a vital trade route. And although the more modern future insisted it be part of a surrounding nation, Mustang, also known as “The Last Forbidden Kingdom,” was permitted to keep their monarchy with the royal line dating back to that 14th century beginning, drawing its conclusion in 2008. It is a rather simplistic overarching history of one of the most beautiful places in a nation whose images are revealing anything but beauty.

About a week ago (August 26), 250 miles southeast of Mustang, flooding began to thoroughly ravage Nepal. It is believed that a massive glacier collapse unleashed a torrent of ice, rock, and mud, with speeds up to 120MPH. Along with the continued disastrous effects, nearly 1,000 people have died, with thousands more missing. Although the zone of horrible catastrophe has not reached Mustang, local conservationists and other authorities have increased the tracking of nearby glacial debris and river headwaters as residents fear of their homes being next."

It might not feel like it outside yet, but the 'ber months are here which also means - this Sunday is the final Sunday for our summer worship schedule!
