"Giving of Ourselves" - Bro. Johnny Weaver - Sunday School 9/06/26

09/05/2026

Harvey Lavon Shinault, 83, of Paragould, Arkansas, and formerly of Lepanto, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on February 13, 1943, in Dell, Arkansas, to Melvin and Helan Franks Shinault. Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa Shinault. They were married on October 26, 1971, and remained devoted to one another until her passing in May 2020. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harley (Shirley) Shinault and Sam Shinault; one sister, Loise Hoeffner; one granddaughter, Amber Lee Jackson; one great-grandson, Brother Tyler; and one daughter-in-law, Tammy Shinault. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: daughter, Vickie (Steve) Jackson of Paragould; son, Dickie (the late Tammy) Shinault of Paragould; and daughter, Ronda (Danny) Ashley of Lepanto. He is also survived by two brothers, Don (Jackie) Shinault of Kentucky and Mike (Terry) Shinault of Virginia; one uncle, Bobby (Sara) Franks of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Tiffany (Brian) Hutton, Nicole (John) Holleman, Shannon (Justin) Woolsey, Kasey (Garry) Tyler, Richard Shinault, Lora (Devin) Gillum, Lauren (Theo) Ashley, Joshua (Shaunda) Garner, Melissa (Wesley) Burns, and Jacob (Whitney) Garner. He leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom he loved dearly. A special place in his heart was reserved for his niece, Lisa (Bob) Inabinet, who was always ready for an adventure whenever he called and was a great help to his children. Harvey was a devout Christian who greatly enjoyed singing Gospel hymns. For many years, he traveled and sang with the Christian quartet, The Heavenaires. He was a truck driver by trade and spent many years behind the wheel and on the open road. His greatest joy was his family. He was incredibly proud of each of them and could often be heard bragging about them. Harvey had many titles. As a husband, he was called “Honey.” As a father, he was known as “Daddy.” As a grandfather, he was “Papaw.” To his great-grandchildren, he was “G-Paw.” To his nieces and nephews, he was “Uncle” or “Big H.” As a truck driver, he was known on the CB radio as “Rolly Polly.” But above all his many titles, the greatest of these was hero. Pallbearers will be Danny Ashley, Steve Jackson, Justin Woolsey, Jagger Morris, Zachary Thompson, and Garry Tyler. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Family visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with friends invited to join the family at noon. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., led by Rev. Danny Pankey. Interment will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas. The family wishes to extend an invitation to everyone to join them for dinner following the services at the Assembly of God in Lepanto. Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.
