Psalm 126 is a psalm of joy, but the joy doesn't start with Israel. It starts with God. When the LORD brought his people home from exile, they could hardly believe it: they were like people dreaming, mouths full of laughter. That joy wasn't worked up from the inside. It was a response to something God had actually done in history — turning the heart of a foreign king to set his people free. Which is why, when the psalm turns to hardship in verse 4, the prayer isn't "help me feel better." It's "Restore us again, LORD." Act again. And the psalm ends with a promise: seed sown in tears comes back as songs of joy.

Take a few minutes this week to reflect on what this means for you, using the questions below.

Where do you most need God to act again this week — where are you praying "restore us"?

What has God already done for you that once felt too good to be true?

Who could you be an ambassador of joy for this week — using whatever influence you have to bring someone else the joy God has brought you?

AI is already changing how we work, create, communicate, and make decisions. But what does Christian faith have to say about the kind of world these technologies are creating?

On Sunday, September 13, Orchard Reformed Church is hosting Faith, Work & AI: An Evening with Paul Taylor.

Together, we’ll explore questions like:

What does faithful work look like in an age of artificial intelligence?
Where should Christians be hopeful—and where should we be cautious?
How might AI reshape not only what we do, but who we are becoming?

Whether you work in tech, lead in the church, or are simply curious about how faith speaks into this moment, you’re warmly invited.
