Pastor Timothy Pinson and Assistant Pastor Michael Pinson. We believe holiness is God's standard of living. Church History
Pastor Woodrow Pinson received Christ in 1959 and was filled with the Holy Ghost with fire! He was a member of the Turin Church of God in Christ, where he Served faithfully for approximately 11 years under the late Supertendent Henry L. He was then lead by the Holy Ghost to P
almetto, Georgia in 1970 to begin a mission. He began preaching and teaching in the home of Mrs. Mary Pope while his late wife, Missionary Jessie Faye Pinson song praises unto the Lord (just the two of them, he preached and taught God's word and she song). One night as they began to become a little discouraged, as Miss'y Pinson was singing with that annointed voice God had given her, they looked up and a crowd of people were coming over the hill to join them, one of which was their first convert, Mother Dora L. Pastor & Miss'y Pinson then began having service in the home of the late Deacon Nathaniel Clark. The Lord then lead them to purchase a tent which was erected in the yard of Deacon Clark. As the Lord continued to minister His word through Pastor Pinson and minister in Song through Miss'y Pinson the church continued to grow. In 1973, the church purchased and remodeled a building on Camp Street in Palmetto for church services. Great revivals followed, one of which started out as a one-week revival, but there was such an outpouring of the Holy Ghost thatl it lasted for an entire month and the speaker was the late Bishop M.J. Pace (a highly annointed man of God!). People came from all demoninations and all social backgrounds and the Lord continued to add to the church. After a few years, the Lord again impressed upon Pastor Pinson to purchase land and build a larger church. This was met with great opposition from some of the local residents who were determined that there would not be a holiness church in Palmetto (many had tried and were unsuccessful). Pastor Pinson did not become discouraged because he knew that God had promised to be with him always and had told him when he started this mission, "Don't depend on the people, but depend on me" and that is exactly what he did and continues to do. During this time of opposition the Lord spoke to the late Miss'y Jessie F. Pinson and let her know that it was time to change the name of the church from "Palmetto C.O.G.I.C. to Pine Valley C.O.G.I.C. and everyone was in agreement with this change. The new edifice was completed in 1986 and the saints marched in! In 1994, the Lord called Missionary Jessie Faye Pinson from labor to reward. Later, Pastor Pinson married Missionary Olivia Hill-Pinson who is serving faithfully as our First Lady. This church continues on a forward march, as our Pastor would say, "on our way to meet the soon coming King" and win souls to the Kingdom of God along the way, adding to this body of baptized believers. We are a church on a mission of harvesting souls into the Kingdom of God!
