Construction Cookies!
Every Tuesday, a sweet tradition takes place at the site of the Anchorage Alaska Temple as local members bring homemade treats to the construction crews. This week, the construction site felt a little more like home, and the spirit of service, a little more like family.
Three sisters—Lindsey, Allie, and Covina—arrived together with their children in tow. Representing the Chugach Foothill Ward, they brought more than just treats; they brought a generation of young helpers to witness the sacred work firsthand. Among their treats were beautifully crafted cookies shaped like the Temple itself, a reminder of the goal they are all working toward.
The morning became truly beautiful when they met Linda, a supervisor with Accent Paint who oversees the Temple’s interior painting. Linda told the moms and their children what members don't often get to hear: "The workers love getting these cookies each week."
In that moment, the distance between the "builders" and the "members" vanished. You could feel the Spirit as a simple thank-you bridged the gap between those laboring on the Temple’s beautiful interior and the Church members who will soon worship within its walls.
We are profoundly grateful to the local members who bring homemade treats to the temple grounds each week. And for all the construction workers whose skilled hands are building us a House of the Lord. This project is about more than just sugar and flour; it’s about letting every worker know they are seen, appreciated, and loved by the Church community they serve.

The America 250 food truck heads north in Alaska! Carrying 35,000 lbs of food and travelling 3,500 miles, food from the truck was delivered to eight service centers across Alaska. These included:

- Neighbor to Neighbor - Denali Borough
- Railbelt Mental Health & Addictions - Nenana
- 5 Loaves Pantry - Delta
- Presbyterian Christchurch Food Bank - Utqiagvik
- Fairbanks Community Food Bank
- Fairbanks Rescue Mission
- Fairbanks Senior Center
- Fairbanks Immaculate Conception Catholic Church

A giant THANK YOU to Weaver Brothers for donating transport services for the special delivery. They were a delight to work with!

To celebrate the United States' 250th Anniversary, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has sent out 250 semi-trucks loaded with food to 250 food banks across all 50 states. The celebration is in association with the America 250 initiative. Stay tuned to learn about one of these special trucks coming up to Alaska!
