Our sister congregation Kehillat YOZMA in Modi'in קהילת יזמ"ה במודיעין is excited to introduce a new webinar series bringing you an authentic, personal window into daily life, Jewish identity, and resilience in Israel today - led by educators from our own community.

We’re beginning our program with a three-part presentation series led by Uri Feinberg, a longtime member of our community and a Jewish educator and tour guide for over 30 years. Born in the United States and raised in Jerusalem, Uri brings a truly unique perspective that bridges North American Jewish experience and Israeli reality.

Uri will present context for the events that led up to October 7th, reflect on what has unfolded in Israel since that day, and together we will explore some of the most pressing questions Israel has been grappling with ever since, including:
What daily life, community, and Jewish identity look and feel like in Israel right now
The moral complexity and social tensions that have emerged over the past two years of war and uncertainty
The visions taking shape for Israel's future - and what they mean for Jewish communities around the world

Sessions - free and open to all:

Sunday, May 31 | 8:00 PM Israel | 1:00 PM EST
Sunday, June 7 | 8:00 PM Israel | 1:00 PM EST
Sunday, June 14 | 8:00 PM Israel | 1:00 PM EST

Each session stands on its own, so feel free to join at any point that works for you.

Judaism isn’t just a religion—it’s an am (עם), a people.
A people shaped by Jewish history, collective memory, Torah, land, and longing.
Our connection to the Land of Israel isn’t political at its core—it’s ancestral. Like Shabbat. Like Yetziat Mitzrayim (the Exodus from Egypt). Like the memories that define who we are before we can even explain them.
It lives below argument and beyond ideology.
Zionism, in its deepest sense, is Jewish peoplehood expressed through a 3,000-year relationship with Eretz Yisrael. It’s the thread that runs from the Bible to today—from exile to return.
At every Passover Seder, Jews across the world say: “L’shanah haba’ah b’Yerushalayim”—Next year in Jerusalem. Not as metaphor. As memory. As hope. As identity.
Even when Jerusalem felt like a place of pain, it was never only a wound—it was always a promise, written into our prayers, our holidays, and the soul of the Jewish people.
Am Yisrael Chai.

A real reason to worry and even a bigger reason to rejoice in the secure future of our Temple as Rabbi Joshua Franklin joins us as our co-senior Rabbi starting July 1st.

What’s driving young Jews away from the rabbinate, and what comes next.

“I am a Zionist. Not because I was told to be, not as a reaction to anti-Zionism, and not out of guilt or obligation. I am a Zionist the way I am a son—because of where I come from, who shaped me, and what I carry within me that I would never give back.”

A powerful reflection from Rabbi Yaron Kapitulnik’s Shabbat sermon at Temple Judea—rooted not in politics, but in identity, memory, and belonging. This is what it sounds like when Zionism is spoken from the bimah: personal, unfiltered, and deeply human.

Am Yisrael Chai.
