Life can be complicated. Sometimes we face circumstances we don't understand, carry burdens we can't easily explain, or struggle to know how to move forward.

We need the truth of God's Word to shape our perspective. We need to remember His faithfulness when our circumstances are difficult. And we need one another, believers who will pray with us, speak truth to us, and encourage us to keep walking by faith.

That's part of why gathering with the church matters. We come together to worship the Lord, hear His Word, and grow in faith alongside one another.

You don't have to have life figured out to join us. Whether you've been following Christ for years, are looking for a church home, or are still exploring what it means to know Him, we'd love to welcome you.

October 31 | Keep Praying

Colossians 4:2

We end this month where we should have been all along: continuing to pray.

Father, thank You for carrying us through these 31 days of prayer. Thank You for the people You have placed in our church to serve, shepherd, teach, encourage, and care for others. We ask You to continue strengthening them long after October ends. Keep drawing them closer to You. Guard their hearts, marriages, families, friendships, ministries, and faithfulness. Give them wisdom for what lies ahead and grace for each day. And teach us as a church not to stop praying simply because this calendar ends. Make prayer a normal part of how we care for one another. May we continue steadfastly in prayer, watchful and thankful, trusting You with the people and the church You have entrusted to us. Amen.

October ends, but the prayer doesn't have to. Keep praying for the people who serve our church.

Some of the most important ministry in a church happens when one believer comes alongside another.

The Christian life can be complicated. We face difficult circumstances, strained relationships, opposition, and moments when we aren't sure what to do next. God has not called us to navigate those complexities alone. He has given us one another.

In Acts 9, Barnabas stood with Saul when other believers were hesitant to receive him. He spoke on Saul's behalf and helped him find a place among the believers. At a moment when Saul needed someone to come alongside him, Barnabas did just that.

We may not always realize how much our encouragement matters. A word of truth, a willingness to listen, a prayer, or simply standing beside someone can help a fellow believer keep going when the path is difficult.

And we shouldn't take those people for granted.

Who has encouraged you in your walk with Christ? Who has stood beside you, prayed for you, or reminded you of God's truth when you needed it?

Take a moment to thank them. Tell them what their encouragement has meant to you.

Then consider this: Who might need that same encouragement from you?

We may not be able to untangle every complexity of life for one another, but we can remind one another of the truth, point each other to Christ, and walk together in faith.

October 30 | A Heart of Contentment

1 Timothy 6:6

Today we're praying for contentment that comes from knowing Christ.

Father, cultivate contentment in those who serve our church. Guard them from comparing their lives, ministries, families, circumstances, or accomplishments with others. Help them remember that godliness with contentment is great gain. Teach them to receive what You have given with gratitude and to trust You with what You have not given. Keep the desire for more recognition, more success, or more control from taking root in their hearts. Give them grateful hearts that find their satisfaction in You. Amen.

Ask God to grow contentment in all of us, remembering that our greatest treasure is Christ.

The complexities of life are coming. Some may be expected. Others may catch us completely off guard.

Faith in God is essential, but we also need to learn to look at our circumstances through the lens of Scripture and ask Him to help us see things from His perspective.

That doesn't mean pretending the pain isn't real or forcing ourselves to feel joyful when we're grieving. It means learning to recognize God's goodness even in the middle of sorrow, trusting His character when we don't understand our circumstances.

Paul describes this tension in 2 Corinthians 6:10: “as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing” (ESV).

We can grieve what we've lost and still give thanks for God's goodness. We can acknowledge the pain of the present while remembering His faithfulness. Both can be true at the same time.

Of course, that's easier said than done. We need God's help to live this way.

What might change if you asked God to help you see your circumstances through the lens of His Word this week?

October 29 | Growing Faith

Proverbs 3:5–6

Today we're praying for deeper trust in God.

Father, grow the faith of those who serve our church. Teach them to trust You when they cannot see the whole path ahead. Keep them from leaning entirely on their own understanding or becoming consumed by worries and fears. Give them confidence in Your character and Your promises. When circumstances are uncertain, help them acknowledge You and continue walking faithfully. Grow in them a settled confidence that You are trustworthy, even when they do not understand what You are doing. Amen.

Ask God to strengthen their faith and teach them to trust Him with what they cannot see.

Sometimes the hardest part of faith is trusting God when we cannot understand what He is doing.

We know He is sovereign. We know He is faithful. Yet when life becomes painful or confusing, we may find ourselves asking, Lord, how do I trust You when I cannot make sense of what's happening?

Faith doesn't mean we have all the answers. It means we turn to the One who does. We can bring our questions, fears, and struggles to Him, asking Him to strengthen our faith and help us trust His character when we cannot see what He is doing.

Remember the father who cried out to Jesus, "I believe; help my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24). He brought his struggling faith to the One who could help him.

And we don't have to navigate life's complexities alone. God has given us one another to pray together, bear one another's burdens, and encourage one another in faith.

When trust feels difficult, pray. And don't be afraid to let others pray with you.

October 28 | Wholehearted Service

Colossians 3:23

Today we're praying for faithfulness in the work God has given them to do.

Father, help those who serve our church work wholeheartedly as unto You. Remind them that their service ultimately belongs to You, even when people do not notice it or understand what it requires. Give them diligence without perfectionism, excellence without pride, and faithfulness without needing recognition. Help them remember that You see the work that others may overlook. Give them joy in serving You through the ordinary responsibilities of ministry. Amen.

Pray today that those who serve our church would find their deepest motivation in serving the Lord.

October 27 | Seeking God’s Will

Colossians 1:9

Today we're praying for hearts that genuinely want God's will.

Father, give those who serve our church a sincere desire to know and follow Your will. Give them wisdom to recognize Your direction and humility to follow it when it is different from what they would choose themselves. Keep personal preference, fear, ambition, or convenience from becoming the deciding voice. Give them hearts that are ready to obey, even when obedience is costly or requires patience. Lead them clearly, and give them the courage to follow where You lead. Amen.

Ask God to help those who serve our church seek His will above their own.
