The World 🌎 Is Watching 👀
I hope this encourages someone.
So, I had a situation at work and was immediately reminded of not only 1 Corinthians 10:31, that we are to do all things unto the Lord but also that the world is watching. Both of these truths collided again today while dealing with some of my sales staff that are lazy and don’t care for following policies and procedures. Well, today their lack of care directly impacted my role and my assistants responsibility which caused frustration. The frustration was communicated and I had to be assertive while still being professional. Long story short the manager I addressed these things to responded as usual but the more important part is while I left the room to go about some other things, there were now 2 other managers in the room and they said oh they were just talking about me. And now I know many of our initial reactions may be to ask what about or get upset or petty or whatever. But he was quick to say that it was all good and how they see how hard I work and it’s unfortunate that the others aren’t the same because they feel they work hard as well and how our dealership can be so much better if everyone had my work ethic and was serious about their work. Initially I would just go about my day of tasks but I know one of the managers communicated to me that she is a Christian and trying to be better with her walk and at work, etc. and with her being in the room I paused and immediately pulled a Roy(friend from church) and in my head said, “you going get this Jesus”.
I then proceeded to explain why I take my work so serious while still having a balance of not being overly militant and stuff. And why it’s important to know what and who we are being motivated by. And as Believers the answer to that is Jesus. We do it because of our Lord. And so I quoted the verse and explained why this is the reason why no one else in the dealership has my work ethic because they are selfish and lazy. But as a believer, it doesn’t matter who the GM is or the managers or any staff in the building, my work ethic and drive will always be the same. The person next to me will never change that. And both managers looked at me and was like wow, That’s good.
I share this not to shine anything on me but to remind us all that the world is watching. Even when we don’t think they are. In the little and in the big, it matters tremendously that we are doing all things unto the Lord and not settling for mediocre but instead pushing for excellence in everything. Does this mean we will do this perfect every time? No, of course not. But we keep pressing and pushing and just let God lead. Others will take notice something is different about you and maybe you haven’t had the chance to speak up and explain what that is just yet. But God will open that door when the time is right. So keep striving to be more like Jesus and ask Him for the courage and discernment of when the time is right to speak up. Because when you least expect it, that door will fly open and you make sure you give em that Jesus.
Grace & Peace ✌🏽
