What does it really mean to be strong?

Join us at 11am at Osceola First Baptist Church, 2900 West Keiser Avenue, as Bro. William Vassar continues his message on “Gospel Formed Strength.”

The world tells us strength comes from within. The Gospel tells us something different: true strength is formed when our lives are surrendered to Jesus Christ.

Come as you are. Bring your family. We’d love to have you worship with us today!

“God is love.” — 1 John 4:16

Absolutely. God IS love.

But sometimes we take those three words and make them mean something the Bible never says.

“God is love” does not mean “God approves of everything I do.”

It doesn’t mean we can live however we want, sin however we want, ignore His Word, and expect Him to condone it.

In fact, God loves us too much to leave us in our sin.

Jesus didn’t die on the cross because sin doesn’t matter. He died because it does. He came to save us from our sin, not give us permission to continue living in it.

And this isn’t about pointing fingers at somebody else. Pride is sin. Gossip is sin. Greed is sin. Hatred is sin. Dishonesty is sin. Sexual immorality is sin. We all fall short.

None of us gets to rewrite Scripture to make our own sin more comfortable.

The Gospel isn’t “Come as you are and stay as you are.”

It’s come as you are, repent, trust Jesus, and let Him change you.

God loves the sinner, but He does not celebrate the sin.

Grace doesn’t make sin acceptable. Grace makes forgiveness possible.

Yes, God is love. But God is also holy, righteous, and just.

Real love tells the truth. Real love calls us to repentance. Real love offers forgiveness.

And the greatest picture of that love will always be the cross. ❤️✝️

“But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

What an incredible reminder that the mission field is right here in Mississippi County.

We were honored to partner with other churches to host a community carnival and share the love of Christ with families here in Osceola.

We are thankful for every volunteer, every family who attended, and every church that served alongside us. It’s amazing to see what God can do when His people unite for His Kingdom.

For two Arkansas Baptist mission teams, the mission field this summer wasn't across an ocean or even across the country. It was just a few hours away in the Arkansas Delta, where volunteers encouraged churches, served communities, and shared the...

Heavenly Father, we lift up Karlee Cullom to You today as she receives this kidney transplant. Surround her with Your peace and guide the hands and minds of the medical team so the surgery will go smoothly and successfully. We know that doctors and nurses treat but it is You that heals. Bless Dustin for his gift and protect him throughout the procedure and keep him safe in recovery. Fill both Karlee and Dustin with comfort, hope, and the assurance of Your presence. Give their families patience, faith, and trust during this time. We give thanks for the gift of healing and ask for a quick complication free recovery for them both. Amen.
