Shepherd's Heart was established in the 1970s under a different name, Osceola Church of the Brethren. We are still very much a part of the Church of the Brethren but now we have additional vision in mind - to have a Shepherd's Heart. Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd, led by example the kind of life we should live and how we should love one another. Our purpose is this: To Lead People to Christ, to

Equip Individuals for a Life of Ministry and Mission, and to Worship and Fellowship as a Family of God. We believe that God is calling us to a missional vision of a community of believers that embodies the very heart and soul of Jesus Christ and His love for all of humankind. This vision compels each of us to become Christ-like in living and to embrace the fact that we are being sent by God to be in partnership with Him in ministering to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of every person that God allows us to meet. We strive to live and love as Christ lived and loved, and with these purposes at the forefront, by prayer, mercy, and grace: we believe we can.

This week’s focus in 1 Chronicles 13–16 reminds us that God’s presence is not something to take lightly. As David sought to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, the people experienced both the seriousness of obedience and the joy of wholehearted worship. These chapters challenge us to honor God with reverence, gratitude, praise, and a sincere desire to keep Him at the center of our lives.

Seasons of testing often come before seasons of purpose. From the miraculous birth announcements to Jesus being led into the wilderness and tempted by Satan, Luke reminds us that God is present even in waiting, uncertainty, and spiritual battles. Testing is not always punishment — sometimes it is preparation.

Stewarding our connections means our relationships are marked by Christlike love, forgiveness, and humility, where the gospel shapes how we relate to others and seeks restoration from brokenness. Healthy relationships become a living witness to God’s grace, drawing people to Jesus through honesty, service, and mutual discipleship.

This week we explore a powerful story of restoration and redemption as a king restores a woman’s land — and even the profits she had lost. 🙌 No matter what has been taken, delayed, broken, or forgotten, God is still able to restore, provide, and help us bounce back through His grace and faithfulness. 💛
