Dear Beloved Members of the Indiana Conference,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As we find ourselves in the heart of summer, I write to you with a spirit of deep gratitude and abiding hope. I continue to hold you in prayer, asking God to fill you with joy, peace, and renewed purpose. These summer months offer sacred space—space for transition, reflection, and forward movement in life and ministry.
For some clergy and congregations, this season marks the beginning of something new—a new appointment, a new ministry setting, a new rhythm. For others, it is a time of nurturing what has already been planted—deepening relationships, and witnessing the ongoing fruitfulness of shared ministry. And for some, it is both. In every circumstance and in every setting, I give thanks for how the Holy Spirit is moving among us and for the ways you are faithfully showing up—called, committed, and connected—bearing witness to the love and light of Jesus Christ in your communities and beyond.
We are indeed ALL IN and on the move, grounded in our shared call to multiply love, cultivate joy, and inspire hope. This is who we are. This is why we do what we do—to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, all to the glory of God.
This summer also marks a new beginning for the Indiana Conference as we live into the newly-formed districts. This is more than an organizational change—it is a missional shift. It reflects our faithful intention to align leadership and resources, and connect in ways that nurture “Life Together”—more collaborative, relational, and mission-focused.
This renewed structure is designed to strengthen support for clergy and congregations, deepen discipleship and witness, enhance missional impact, and develop and equip leaders to meet the ever-evolving needs of our communities and the world. I am profoundly grateful for the ways you are embracing this journey with openness, trust, and faithful anticipation.
I am reminded of these words from Hebrews 10:23–24:
“Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds."
Friends, we are a connectional people. We are rooted in Christ, anchored in hope, and committed to one another. I celebrate the ways you continue to embody this hope in your churches and communities—proclaiming the Good News, caring for the vulnerable, and working for justice and peace.
As we move into this new season of ministry together, I look forward to being with you at the upcoming Fall Rally Days in each of the districts. These gatherings will be holy moments of worship, celebration, fellowship, and renewed commitment to the mission that unites us. I encourage you to visit the Conference website for dates and locations—and to come with a spirit of joy and expectation.
We are living in a time that calls for a relentless faith, courageous hope, and resilient leadership. And I truly believe that God is doing a new thing in us, with us, and through us—for such a time as this.
May these remaining weeks of summer be for you a season of rest, reset, and renewal. Let us continue pressing forward—ALL IN and on the move—trusting fully that the One who calls us is indeed faithful.
