In 2011, our Parish celebrated its 100th anniversary, and 2017 marked the bicentennial year of our church. Ignatius parish was formed in 1817 as a Jesuit Mission from Conewago in Adams County; it eventually became a mission from Gettysburg then Chambersburg. Saint Ignatius is serving up its Annual Friday Fish Dinner again this year. This past Friday night's well-attended event offered the community time to come together. The menu of potato-crusted cod, fresh-cut fries, coleslaw, rolls, applesauce, drinks, and a wide selection of desserts drew a hungry crowd. Another dinner is planned for March 20, with Stations of the Cross following the dinner, for those interested, at 7:00 p.m. Dinner is served at the Lower Loyola Center at Saint Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 1095 Church Rd., Orrtanna. Don't miss the next one!

Enjoy the Sunday 100-piece puzzle.

Pentecost wasn’t just an event. It was a turning point.

Before the Holy Spirit came, the disciples were afraid. Afterward, they were bold witnesses “to the ends of the earth” (Acts of the Apostles 1:8).

The difference?

The Holy Spirit.

Jesus promised the Helper (Gospel of John 14:26) — and that promise is still alive today. The Spirit strengthens us when we feel weak. He reminds us of Christ’s words when we forget. He gives us power when the world feels daunting.
If you’re a young adult in your 20s or 30s looking for renewal, courage, and authentic community, this weekend is for you.

Join other young adults from the Diocese of Harrisburg for an overnight retreat as we celebrate Pentecost together.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from Saturday evening through Monday afternoon, January 24-26. Heavy snow is possible, with total snow accumulations of 6 inches or more possible. Heavy snow could result in significant widespread travel disruptions. Check weather.gov/StateCollege for updates.

Given the possible dangerous travel conditions, we ask parishioners to exercise prudence in attending Sunday Mass. No sin is incurred if, in your good judgment, driving in inclement weather presents a danger to you or to others.
