Testimony Tuesday!!

This is Emily! She was asked to share her testimony on the Book of Mormon.

She said, “My testimony of the Book of Mormon began as a young child and in the quietest of places - under my covers, flashlight in hand. Those late nights, became sacred time for me. I remember the small circle of light on the pages, feeling like I was discovering something meant just for me. One verse that has grown with me over the years is 3 Nephi 18:24 - “Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up, that which ye have seen me do.” This scripture reminds me that the light I hold is His light. That flashlight under my covers was my first attempt at holding up a light, even in the smallest way. Now I understand that I can let Christ's light shine through me to others. The Book of Mormon has been a constant companion, teaching me how to follow His example. I know it's true because I've felt His voice speak to me through its pages, first as a child and now as I strive to be that light for those around me.

Testimony Tuesday!

This is Bryleigh! She served her mission in the California Roseville Mission!

She was asked to share her testimony of serving a mission.

She said, “God’s work is truly incredible! I loved being a representative of Jesus Christ and watching Him change the lives of so many, including mine for 18 months. I’m so grateful for my mission experience because I got to know God and Jesus Christ better and I learned how to better rely on them. It wasn’t always easy but every challenge strengthened my testimony in Jesus Christ and in His church. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of joy, peace, and redemption. Because I chose to serve a mission, I got to preach and talk about that every single day. My mission gave me a sense of purpose and changed my life forever!”

Elder David A. Bednar observed: “The imagery of the ‘windows’ of heaven used by Malachi is most instructive [see Malachi 3:10]. Windows allow natural light to enter into a building. In like manner, spiritual illumination and perspective are poured out through the windows of heaven and into our lives as we honor the law of tithing” (“The Windows of Heaven,” Liahona, Nov. 2013, 18).I witness that Jesus Christ is the perfect example of how to put God first in our lives. I witness that He laid down His life as a symbol of complete submission to His Father’s will.

"As we pray continually, no matter the circumstances of life, the Lord will offer us His peace and abiding support. I am reminded of the example of the sons of Mosiah, who had success in preaching the gospel and were made spiritually strong because they prayed constantly. We read in the book of Alma, “They had given themselves too much prayer, and fasting; therefore they had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation.” It is significant that their spiritual strength came from continued prayer rather than waiting to pray until a moment of crisis when they desperately needed divine help. Consistent prayer during joyous times and also during seasons of distress and grief will surely be rewarded according to His will and perfect timing."
