Many, many thanks to our awesome sponsors who without them our conference would be much smaller and more costly to you, the ticket purchaser. Reflection from the Executive Director:

I have had many great influence in my life. Some have passed many years ago and some are still with us. But one man in particular taught me lessons that no other man could. Of course my dad taught me everything I needed to know as a young boy and gave me the baseline of my faith and many life skills that nobody else could.

But, once I left home and entered college, my lessons were taught mostly by the men who became surrogate fathers, if you will. This past week, we lost Stanley "Skip" Bertman, the greatest college baseball coach in history. I was fortunate enough to be the trainer on his teams at LSU from the fall of 1989 to the summer of 1991. Although I was support staff, I was treated as one of the team and the LSU Baseball family. I was in every team meeting and heard every inspirational or motivational talk he gave during that period. Coach Bertman had a unique way of making you believe that you could absolutely do anything you put your mind to. He taught visualization, trust, desiring to aspire, and acting upon all of this with enthusiasm.

These lessons have served me throughout my life. With God's grace and Coach Bertman's wisdom, I never doubted success in my life. If something didn't work out, it just wasn't part of God's plan.

In 2018, Fr. Sinclair Oubre wanted to start a men's conference. Two weeks later, I agreed to take on the project because I could VIVIDLY IMAGINE an arena filled with men in faith and fellowship, worshipping together. I ARDENTLY DESIRED this vision so that we could restore men thriving as leaders in their families and parish. I SINCERELY BELIEVED that with the grace of God this could happen. So, I ENTHUSIASTICALLY ACTED upon it and formed a team. Over the past 9+ years, we have grown into a reality and not just a vision.

This is the latest and greatest example of the influence that Skip Bertman had on me because his lessons applied to much more than baseball.

Although he was of Jewish faith, he always allowed religious speakers from various denominations come in on Sundays for pre-game chapel. All were very inspiring and Coach always followed with his motivational expertise.

My current vision I know must COME TO PASS, is to be invited to give a Sunday talk to the team so that I can bring full circle and make Coach proud. The image is vivid. You just have to believe!
