Bethany is launching a fun reading program with the theme “Read Every Day, Shine Every Way!” for our neighborhood children. They can pick up an August Book Log from the flyer box on the library and track their reading all month long – whether they are reading on their own or being read to. The challenge will start August 9 and go through September 5 (or any start date is fine). Both library boxes will be filled with fresh books to choose from, and each donated book will include a special bookmark with information about Bethany. These have been created by the Mission Committee. As an added incentive, any child who completes the reading challenge will receive a special Reading Medallion to celebrate their accomplishment. We look forward to sharing the joy of reading and shining together with our neighboring community!

If you would like to participate in the book drive, these are some ways you can help:
• Donate gently used children’s books that are stored in your closet or visit a local used bookstore. Brand new books are not required. We only ask that they be in good condition.
• Monetary funds will be accepted to purchase English/Spanish books or the medallions.
• Provide ideas of how we can spread the word. • Tell your family and friends about Bethany’s Little Free Library and the summer reading project.
