“Hey there, Ladies!!!
There is no WMU this month (June) or next month (July).
Today would normally be our meeting day, so I thought I would share a little bit about the message for this month.
I hope you will dig into the scriptures and spend some quiet time with our loving Savior.

Have you ever received something that you didn't earn or expect?
Have you ever received a text message from someone who just wanted to say they were thinking about you?
Maybe a friend brought over some really yummy treats, for no reason at all, other than to brighten your day.
I went through the drive-through to get a coffee once and was surprised to hear that the person in front of me had paid for my coffee. A complete stranger paid for my coffee. Why?
Those are all wonderful gifts. But the most amazing gift that we could ever receive is the one from our loving Savior; salvation through Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 9:15 says 'Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!'
We're going to talk abit about David now and if we know anything about him, we know that he made plenty of mistakes during his life, and did nothing to earn the title of king. Yet God showed him grace and forgiveness on many occasions (see Psalms 32 & 51; 2 Samuel) and he was appointed king of Isreal, God's chosen people.
Let's go to 2 Samuel 9:1-13.
Now remember that at one time King Saul wanted David killed. But now David is helping the heir of Saul. Can you imagine, helping a family member of someone who wanted you dead? Why would David want to do this? Or was he under obligation to do so?
Check out 1 Samuel 20:12-42 (Jonathan and David made an agreement, or covenant. This lets us in on WHY David was helping Saul's heir).
David was really trying to uphold his end of the agreement that he made with his friend, and asked a couple of times, 'Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness to, for Jonathon's sake?' And who did he find? Jonathon's son, Mephibosheth. Wow, what a joy that must have been to David. His friend's son, was still living and now he has an opportunity to help.
Mephibosheth had been through alot. He was around 5 years old when his father and grandfather died. He fell and became disabled. (2 Sam. 4:4) Now he's living in a place that's not his home and above all else, he was summoned to the king.
When he approached David, he fell face down, yet David told him not to be afraid. David told him he would restore the land that belonged to his grandfather and that he would also eat at David's table. Can you image the relief Mephibosheth felt?
We can tell what Mephibosheth thought of himself when he said, 'what is your servant that you should notice a dead dog like me?'
He had no self-worth. He thought very lowly of himself. He was worth nothing, so he thought.
But David showed him grace.
Not only did he restore the land that belonged to him, but he also commanded others to serve Mephibosheth. He and his son moved to Jerusalem and always ate at the king's table.
Not just grace, Amazing Grace.
These verses give us a glimpse of what grace looks like. It goes deeper than just kindness. God used David to extend His love, His graciousness, and His kindness to the house of Saul, whether they deserved it not.
Isn't it pure joy to know that God shows us grace, even when we don't deserve it?!
Psalm 103:10 "He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our offenses.'
Ephesians 1:6-8 '..to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved. We have redemption in Him through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.'
God shows us grace every day, so how can we serve others with grace in our home, community and/or church?
Check out Titus 2:11-14 and turn it into a personal prayer. Then listen for God to speak.
