In 1970, singer Lynn Anderson made famous the line, "I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden."

As Christians we have sometimes been led to believe that if one follows God whole-heartedly, prays earnestly, reads the Bible consistently and lives godly, there will be nothing but smooth sailing; nothing but a pleasant rose garden.

But it's just not so! Jesus didn't promise such nor does such match our experience. Real life has its share of troubles, difficulties, and sorrows. And Christians, because they ARE Christians encounter further trials and difficulties from those who are antagonistic to the things of God. We face various kinds of persecution.

Join us tomorrow at 9:30am as we investigate the difficult topic of trials, suffering, and persecution. The Apostle Peter has some important lessons for us as we study his first epistle together
