The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy that "All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." (II Tim. 3:12). Persecution has been the reality for God's people all throughout Biblical and Church history. Sometimes the persecution is in the form of verbal abuse, sometimes it's physical violence, sometimes it's simply uncomfortable, sometimes it results in anxiety and PTSD, and at times it has resulted in death.

God's people are targets for the enemy of their souls and he uses wicked individuals to cause them pain. Satan has been known to use governments, culture, and media to hurt Christians. Sometimes he uses co-workers, peers, school mates, and neighbors. At times he has even used unbelieving family members to cause hurt and pain to Christian children, spouses, parents, or siblings. Many of us have seen, or even experienced the cruel pain caused by a close relative.

Join us tomorrow at 9:30 am as we continue our study of I Thessalonians and discover both the nature of persecution as well as a proper response. Together we will learn that God sees and remembers and we will encourage one another to stand true and unshaken.
