As a people for God's own possession; (I Pet 2:9) we live our lives in the pursuit of bringing glory to God (Rom 12:1-2). Specifically, our congregation desires to "Equip the Saints for Ministry and Edify the Body of Christ" (Eph 4:12). Through careful preaching and teaching of God's Word (II Tim 3:16-17) and diligently preserving the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace (Eph 4:3) we hope to achieve this goal.

The concept of the Book of Life is far more than just a passing theological reference—it is the definitive record of one's eternal future. This powerful message dives into the gravity of where we stand before judgment and the absolute assurance provided to those whose names are securely written in heaven.

It is a sobering reality to consider that without grace, one's own actions and failures become the standard for judgment. Yet, there is a profound, unshakable hope offered here: once a name is recorded in the Book of Life, it is permanent. No scratching out, no erasing, and no removal from the roll call of heaven. For those who belong to Jesus, there is a promise of security that reaches to the uttermost. Discover the peace that comes with knowing one’s place in the ultimate story of eternity.

There is not a single square inch of this universe over which Christ does not claim ownership.

It’s easy to think of sovereignty as a distant theological concept, but when applied to personal life, it shifts into something far more powerful: absolute confidence. If every detail of existence—every joy, every trial, every moment—is held within the hand of an all-powerful God, then nothing is accidental and nothing is beyond His reach. Drawing from the profound insight of Abraham Kuyper, this reflection explores the comforting, emboldening reality that believers serve a King who is not just Creator, but the sustainer of all things. Whether navigating the complexities of the world or seeking purpose, remembering who holds the keys is the ultimate anchor for the soul.

It’s easy to get swept up in the pendulum swing of modern nationalism—where the conversation shifts between tearing down history and elevating a country to a status it was never meant to hold. But what happens when the focus shifts from earthly borders to a much higher allegiance?

This perspective offers a grounding reality check on the American experience. It reminds us that while a nation can be wonderful, it is neither the ultimate villain nor the ultimate savior. True perspective comes from remembering that for believers, our citizenship is held in a far greater kingdom. By looking toward the hope of heaven, we find a steadying balance for how we navigate life, politics, and our identity here on earth.

The world often gets the order completely backward, assuming we follow a code of ethics to earn our standing. But there is a profound shift in perspective waiting to be discovered: We don't behave to become citizens; we behave because we already are.

Drawing from the powerful insights of Philippians 3:20-21, this reflection challenges the status quo of how we approach our daily conduct. It’s an invitation to stop striving for approval and start living from a place of identity already secured by grace. When the realization truly sinks in that home is elsewhere, every action on earth begins to transform.
