Join us for an unforgettable evening with Houston's own Sarah Golden—an acclaimed independent folk singer-songwriter known for her soulful storytelling, rich vocals, and heartfelt performances.

Since releasing her debut album Truth in 2002, Sarah has built an impressive career, earning recognition as a Kerrville Folk Festival Ballad Tree performer, a finalist on America's Got Talent (2009) and The Voice (2012), a multiple-time Folk Alliance Showcase Artist, and a 2026 Kerrville New Folk Finalist. She has shared the stage with artists including Shawn Colvin, Ruthie Foster, and Susan Gibson. Her meaningful lyrics reflect a deep commitment to social justice, human rights, and authentic human connection.

We're also delighted to welcome talented singer-songwriter Kate Waters, who will open the evening and join Sarah during her performance.

Drum Circle: Friday, June 26 at 7pm

The June Full Moon will be on Monday - let's drum this Friday to welcome it!

This full moon is traditionally known as the Strawberry Moon. The Strawberry Moon is associated with sweetness, abundance, love, and harvest. It represents the moment when the seeds planted earlier in the year begin to bear fruit.

We drum for about an hour and always leave happy and feeling fulfilled and connected. All are welcome to this spiritual practice for any level of drummer. We have drums to share or bring your own. Have you heard how liberating it is? Come find out for yourself.

Why this happened:
Since 2020, Northwoods has operated under a Zoom license purchased through the UUA at a significant discount. That program is now being phased out. However, because the account is now configured as an individual Zoom Pro account rather than one purchased through the UUA, Zoom now requires that all meetings use either a waiting room or a pass code for security purposes.

ICE Out of The Woodlands
Protest on March 1 at Northshore Park
ICE has leased a building right here in the Woodlands, at 1780 Hughes Landing Boulevard. This will be used as office space for the bureaucrats managing the concentration camps being set up. Target Hospitality, the company operating the Dilley detention center, has its headquarters right across the lake at 9320 Lakeside Blvd. Bringing awareness of ICE presence is our work to do! Please join Ren Radix and David Shontz at North Shore Park on Sunday, March 1 from 2-4 pm to protest ICE presence in our community.

We’re excited to host the Rainbow Rights Roadshow at Northwoods UU Church on Friday, February 6, 6–8 pm, in partnership with Just Texas (Texas Freedom Network’s faith organizing program).
The evening will include a brief legislative update, followed by a roundtable discussion about abortion, family planning, and LGBTQIA+ resource gaps in our area—and how we can work together to build visibility and change hearts and minds locally. We’ll close with a community resource table featuring banned books, Plan B, HRT health kits, binders, menstrual products, and a clothing swap.
