Daniel walked into the most powerful empire in the world and refused to let it define him. Same culture. Same pressure. Different allegiance.

Every culture tells you who you are, what matters, and how to live. Babylon did it. Ours does too. The question Daniel faced is the same one we face: can you live faithfully in a world that demands compromise without becoming it?

Holiness is risky business. It can cost you a job, a friendship, an opportunity. But your victory was never dependent on the outcome. It was settled at the cross. Babylon may tell you who you are, but Babylon does not get to decide whose you are.

Be resolute. If the world applauds you, be faithful. If it costs you everything, be faithful anyway. Catch the full message from Daniel 1 this week.

Day 2: The Lamb Who Was Always Coming
Reading: Isaiah 53:4-12

Devotional:

Hundreds of years before the cross, Isaiah described a suffering servant who would be led like a lamb to the slaughter, who would bear the iniquity of many, and who would pour out His life unto death. This was not a coincidence or a lucky guess. It was the unveiling of a plan that God had set in motion long before Calvary. Every Passover lamb sacrificed across fifteen centuries was a chapter in a story that was building toward one final, perfect sacrifice. When Jesus took the bread and the cup at that last supper, He was not introducing something new. He was completing something ancient. The shadow had finally met its substance.

Reflection: How does knowing that God planned your redemption before you ever existed change the way you understand His love for you?

Application: Read Isaiah 53 slowly and substitute your own name wherever the text refers to the one for whom the servant suffers. Let the personal weight of that substitution settle on you throughout the day.

Every Passover meal for fifteen hundred years was pointing to one moment. When Jesus took the bread and the cup at His last supper with the disciples (Mark 14:12-25), He was not simply observing a tradition. He was fulfilling it. The lamb was not missing from the table. The Lamb was sitting at it.

The heart of the gospel is substitutionary sacrifice. Just as death passed over homes covered by the blood of a lamb in Egypt, God's judgment passes over everyone covered by the blood of Christ. As Pastor Logan reminded us this week: all real, life-changing love is substitutionary sacrifice.

The Lord's Supper is not just a look back. It is a preview. Jesus promised He would drink the cup again with His people in the Kingdom of God. The greatest feast is still to come.

Join us as we gather around His table, remember what He has done, and anticipate what is ahead.

Day 1: The Purpose He Carried
Reading: Mark 10:32-45

Devotional:

Jesus walked toward Jerusalem knowing exactly what awaited Him. This was not the stumbling of a man caught off guard. It was the deliberate march of a King fulfilling a mission He had carried before time began. He came not to be served, but to serve. Consider how rarely we operate from that posture. Most of our days are quietly organized around our own comfort, recognition, and advancement. Yet Jesus, who deserved every honor the universe could offer, laid those privileges aside without hesitation. Sit with that today. Let the intentionality of His sacrifice challenge the intentionality of your own living.

Reflection Questions:

In what areas of your life are you still quietly seeking to be served rather than to serve?
What would it look like today to move toward someone with the same deliberate purpose Jesus carried?

Ever feel like prayer is complicated or wonder if you're doing it "right"? This Sunday, we discovered the beautiful simplicity Jesus taught: prayer is just talking with your Dad.

Jesus didn't give us a formula to memorize—He gave us an invitation. Not to impress God with fancy words or long prayers, but to approach Him as beloved children. Through Christ, the throne of judgment has become a throne of grace where we're welcomed every single day.

We explored Matthew 6:7-15 and learned that prayer isn't about informing an all-knowing Father—it's about depending on a loving one. Every morning we need daily bread AND daily grace. We pray "Your kingdom come" while surrendering our own agendas. We confess our sins and extend the forgiveness we've received.

The conversation doesn't end when church does. Your heavenly Father is waiting to hear from you today—not because you have to, but because you get to.
