Last week, our very own Katie Dumont was recognized as this year’s Rotary Teacher of the Year for GSLS!

This recognition reflects her dedication to our school and our students. Katie brings such a positive presence to our school, she approaches problems with a solutions mindset and is someone who collaborates thoughtfully with others.

What stands out most is her commitment to students. During kindergarten assessments, she looks for the strengths in every child and believes she can support them and help them grow. Once they are in her kindergarten class, she continues that work, nurturing students so they can become their best selves.

Her classroom is always a hive of productivity and care, where students are engaged and doing their best.
