LITTLE THINGS MATTER! I took my grandson, Jaxon, to see Patterson Mill's high school baseball team play for the state championship. I walked away with the lesson that LITTLE THINGS MATTER and sometimes determine the difference between achieving your goal and just falling short. LITTLE THINGS MATTER, like a pitch landing 2 inches in any direction to allow a catcher to block it, a base runner getting a half step larger secondary lead to allow him to slide under a tag at home plate, or a runner rounding third base with head up, instead of just running to the bag with head down. If attention had been paid to those little things, and the ball had just landed 2 inches in any direction, the outcome may have been different for those young men.

Reflecting back on that game has caused me to think about how LITTLE THINGS MATTER in our daily lives, our families, and our walk with Christ. Little things like what do we do when we think no one is looking? How do I choose to invest my free time? Small habits, or disciplines, practiced over and over make a huge difference. It's what we practice daily that shows up when the pressure is on. Pressure and crises don't necessarily develop discipline and character as much as they reveal them.
That game has caused me to examine what small disciplines I can practice daily to help prepare me for when life turns sideways, upside down or just crashes.

It is those small things that are stacked over and over that can make all the difference when it really counts. Am I in His Word daily, not to prepare a message, but to know the Father deeper? Do I pause to express gratitude for each day and moment? Yes, LITTLE THINGS MATTER!

Love is not a spiritual gift that only some people have.

It is the way every spiritual gift is meant to be exercised.

Teaching without love misses the point.Prophecy without love becomes noise.Serving without love becomes performance.Leadership without love becomes pride.

The gift is never greater than the spirit behind it.

God did not give us gifts to build ourselves up—He gave them to build up the Body in love.

Jesus is the example.Everything He did flowed from love.

Not attention.Not status.Not recognition.

Love.

I can speak in powerful ways.
I can move people with my words.
I can preach, teach, and prophesy.

But if love is not what moves me first…
I am just noise.

I can serve others.
Give sacrificially.
Do incredible things that look holy to everyone else.

But if it is not done from love,
it gains nothing.

God is not only looking at what we do.
He is looking at what is driving it.

Why do you do what you do?

At home.
On social media.
At work.
In the church.

Why do you speak up?
Why do you stay silent?

Is it for recognition?
Likes?
Approval?
To prove someone wrong?
Because it fills a need?
Because you love it?
Because you’re gifted at it?

Are you doing it to get a response…
or in response to what God has already done for you?

The world teaches us to perform.
But the Kingdom calls us to serve.

Not for applause.
Not for attention.
Not for validation.

But because we are part of the Body of Christ, each with a purpose, each with a calling. ❤️

A Better Way ❤️

Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian church, instructs them—and us—that there is a better way.

A better way to do life.
A better way to do relationships and work.
A better way to speak, serve, lead, and love.

Not the world’s way.
God’s way.

The Bible does not just tell us what is right.
It shows us what is best.

A better way.

WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
The 1984 #1 hit song by Tina Turner asked a very important question: "What's love got to do with it?" It was written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle. The song became an anthem for an anti-love culture. Why?

I believe the answer is in the song's lyrics. It calls love a secondhand emotion. In later interviews about the song, Tina admits she did not espouse its meaning. She said she believes "love has everything to do with everything."
Her thoughts are somewhat in line with 1 Corinthians 12-13. In chapter 12, Paul lists several gifts and abilities that are needed for the church to function and flourish. He ends the list with a sneak peek into something epic. He concluded it with a challenge to learn and live a better way, or the best way. He opens chapter 13 by presenting a life of love as the best way.

The song is wrong; love is not an emotion, it is a verb. So how do we live out this love? It is different from what the world is attempting to sell us. This love Paul defines is the way God loves us, the people he created. It means we ...
• Put others before ourselves.
• Act in others' best interest.
• Sometimes tell the hard truth, but with gentleness and respect
• Sometimes offend, but should never be offensive.
If a small child is about to touch a hot stove, do we tell them? If someone is headed for a hidden cliff, do we not warn them for fear of offending them? The most loving thing we can ever do is tell another person about the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Jesus, when an adulterous woman was thrown in front of him, did not condemn her. He loved her just as she was in that moment, but he also loved her enough to say, "Go and sin no more. " Another way to say it is like this: look at where you are right now. There is another way to live, let me show you...

"REGRET"
We have all received, or will receive, the letter, email, or text that opens with, "I regret to inform you." What usually follows is bad news. Today's column is different, because there is good news in the end so read it all the way through.

I REGRET to inform you that last week I forgot to inform you of REGRET. Buried in a woman's purse, or a man's toolbox, is REGRET. We hide the REGRET of past...
• Decisions
• Mistakes
• Actions
• And even inaction
We often rehearse over and over in our minds all the"What if's."

I'm sure the Apostle Paul grappled with many
REGRETS from his days before Jesus. He was nothing less than a terrorist. He persecuted and even planned the ex*****ons of people who followed Jesus, but then Jesus encountered him on the road to another ex*****on. Paul's life was radically transformed by grace.

When reflecting on his REGRETS, he gave these instructions: But one thing / do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, / pursue as my goal the prize promised by God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:130-14

When grace enters the room, our past is wiped away, and we are no longer condemned by the only one who can forever condemn us, Live in the freedom that only Jesus can bring.

The world says:
✨ chase perfection
✨ compare yourself
✨ carry the shame
✨ hide the struggle
✨ prove your worth

But the Word says:
🤍 do not fear
🤍 cast your burdens on Him
🤍 there is no condemnation in Christ
🤍 follow Jesus, not the crowd
🤍 the truth will set you free

A godly woman isn’t led by culture, feelings, comparison, or insecurity.
She takes her cues from the Word of God — even when it goes against the world around her.

Stop letting culture define your identity.
Let God’s truth do it instead. ✨

“A godly woman takes her cue from His WORD and not this WORLD.”
