There will come a day when our children have to know God beyond what we’ve taught them about Him. They cannot live forever off our prayers, our convictions, or our experiences. Life will hit them, questions will come, and eventually Mama’s faith won’t be enough and Daddy’s testimony won’t be enough. They’re going to need their own history with God.

That means we have to give this generation more than something to imitate—we have to create space for them to encounter God for themselves. Because when the music stops, the crowd is gone, and nobody is there telling them what to do, what will keep them is what they personally know to be true about God. 🙌🏽

It’s easy to identify everything that’s wrong with a generation. It takes something different to love them enough to consistently carry them before God. Before we write them off, criticize their choices, or become discouraged by what we see, we should ask ourselves how faithfully we’ve been covering them in prayer.

Intercession means refusing to give up on people simply because we cannot see immediate change. Keep calling their names in prayer. Keep believing for their purpose. Keep covering the places they haven’t even realized are under attack yet. Some seeds of prayer may not produce fruit that you can see today, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t working beneath the surface.

Let’s become a church that doesn’t just have something to say about the next generation, but consistently has something to say to God about them.

The next generation doesn’t need to see a perfect version of us. They need to see what a faithful God can do with an imperfect life. Sometimes the greatest lesson we can give them isn’t a lecture about what choices to make, but the wisdom we gained from the choices we wish we could make again.

Don’t hide the chapters God has already redeemed. Somebody coming behind you may avoid years of pain because you were willing to be transparent about where you’ve been and what you’ve been through. What you once wanted to bury could become the very thing God uses to help somebody else make it through. Your past doesn’t disqualify you, it gives you something worth sharing.

We CANNOT be passive about what is being planted in the hearts and minds of our children. The loudest voice in their lives should not automatically become the most influential one. They need a foundation strong enough to help them recognize truth when everything around them is competing for their attention.

This means discipleship has to extend beyond Sunday morning. It happens in everyday conversations, in what we model at home, in how we respond to difficulty, in what we allow to shape our households, and in whether our children actually see us living the faith we want them to have.

We’re not just raising children to become successful adults. We’re raising a generation that knows Jesus, knows truth, and knows who they are in Him.

Don’t let what you see in this generation make you lose faith in what God can still do through them. A difficult season is not a final destination, and what looks like resistance today can become surrender tomorrow.

We thank God for therapists, counselors, doctors, mentors, and every resource He can use to bring healing and support. But our confidence ultimately rests in a God who can reach places in the heart that no human being can reach alone. So keep praying. Keep planting. Keep believing. God is not finished with this generation.

What you see right now is not the end of their story.

Faith was never meant to stop with us. God has entrusted us with the responsibility of making sure the next generation knows who He is, not just through what they hear at church, but through what they see and learn from us. Our children need to hear our testimonies, see us pray, and know what God has done, how He has carried us, and why we trust Him.

We cannot leave their faith to chance or expect someone else to build the foundation we were called to help lay. What God has revealed to one generation must be intentionally passed to the next. We have a generation to tell!!!
