When I was at Southeastern University, I had a professor who had spent decades as a missionary in Southeast Asia and had witnessed God do remarkable miracles.
When he talked about healing, Professor Houlihan shared a story from his childhood. His grandmother would bake apple pie for dessert, and when he came in from playing, he would beg for a piece before dinner. She always said noābut she would bake a small piece of pie crust with cinnamon sugar on a separate dish beside the pie. Then she would smile, pull it from the oven, and let him have a taste.
He said that is what healing on earth is like: a taste of heaven and of what is to come.
As I prayed for this Sunday, Psalm 34:8 came to mind:
āTaste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.ā
I believe this Sunday we will have a taste of heavenāhealing, forgiveness, wholeness, deliverance, and freedom.
Come expecting to taste and see that He is good.
