137 Years Of Midway
Midway Church of Chrisr (DOC) recently celebrated its 137th Anniversary , and we are reminded that Jesus told His disciples to remind the people how God had blessed them ( brought them out of Egypt,
survived the wilderness, and into the Promise Land )
CErtainly the same can be said of
Midway, Founded in the late 1800's many at that time probably had been slaves after all the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863,
That generation endured slavery and Jim Ctow, The next generations endured World War I , The Great Depression, World War II, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam, the Civil Rights Movement, integration, losses of loved one and still Midway remained standing on the promises of God,
The Old Saints may not have done what some think they should have done but you can rest assured knowing they sat by the bedside of the sick and dying singing and praying through the night, They did the best they could and we applaude them.
Through all of the events mentioned many of you attended at sometime.Maybe you sang in the Youth Choir, attended Sunday School or enjoyed a " church
picnic".
Through these 137 years God has continously blessed us and if at some time in your life you were a member of Midway please leave a positive memory
of your experience,
We give all Honor and Praise to God who has kept us and we know he has great plans for us.
