It's been 25 years since the 9/11 terror attacks on America. On Friday, the nation will remember those lost on that fateful day and take a moment of silence in their memory.

On this quarter-century anniversary of the attacks, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will add a seventh moment of silence to honor those who have died of illnesses related to their time at or near the World Trade Center site.

The faithful are invited to gather for the following Masses at The Cathedral of St. Agnes for the Memorials of Saints Monica (August 27) and Augustine (August 28) at 8 AM. Bishop Barres will be the celebrant and preach on these two great saints in the Life, Teaching and Pontificate of Pope Leo XIV. The Masses will air live on Catholic Faith Network (CFNtv.org).

A message from Archbishop Richard Henning: Dear brothers and sisters, once again, a natural disaster has disrupted the lives of many families. Yesterday, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake not only shook physical structures, but also the sense of security of countless individuals in Colombia.

Amid all of this, while they felt the earth shake beneath their feet, faith remained unshaken as many called out to God in their moment of fear, uncertainty, and need. Today, let us do the same, lift our prayers to our heavenly Father, who is our refuge, strength and our ever-present help in times of trouble.

May He comfort those who are suffering, protect those who remain vulnerable, and grant wisdom and strength to all who are responding to this disaster in Colombia. Mother Mary, Virgin of Chiquinquirá, pray for us. Amen.
