Most of us were taught that if we do everything right and pray hard enough, we'll eventually win. Pastor Dana Everage flipped that this week: the victory already belongs to you before the battle even starts.

Jesus already went through the fight and won. That means whatever you're facing right now, you're not trying to earn a win you don't have yet. You already have it. You're walking it out, not working toward it.

That doesn't erase the hard days. Life still has ups and downs, that's normal, that's part of it. But you get to face every one of them already standing on the winning side.

Everybody knows the verse. Resist the devil and he will flee. What gets left out is the line right before it: submit yourself to God first. The fleeing isn't automatic. It only happens as a result of submitting.

Pastor Dana Everage made it practical this week with cake. Submitting to God doesn't mean you can never have a piece of German chocolate cake again. It means you have a slice instead of the whole cake. Same idea whether it's a pot of jambalaya or your third cup of coffee. The issue was never the cake.

Trying to power through it on your own runs out fast. Submitting to what God already said about you is what makes the resisting actually work.

The week is over. Maybe it wrecked you. Maybe you’re just tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix.

This is what it looks like right before the room fills up. Quiet. Empty seats. One person sitting still, getting ready to meet with God before anyone else walks in.

If you’re brokenhearted this week, if you feel lost, if you don’t know where you fit anymore, this seat is for you too. You don’t need to know what to say. You don’t need to have your life sorted out first. You just need to come sit down.

God said "let there be light," and the light showed up. That's how He made everything. Speaking things into being that didn't exist yet.

You can start thanking God for something before it's actually happened. That's not denial. That's faith.

This week Pastor Dana Everage broke down what it looks like to speak with confidence over something you're still waiting on, using something as ordinary as selling a house. He didn't wait for the sale to close to feel at peace. He called it sold, thanked God like it was already done, and kept moving.

That's the pattern: say what you believe, not just what you see.
