Dear Brothers and Sisters of the North Las Vegas Stake,

We invite you to mark your calendars and prepare to attend the North Las Vegas Nevada Stake Conference to be held February 28-March 1, 2026. Presiding at this conference will be Elder Matthew L. Carpenter of the Seventy. We ask that you prayerfully prepare to attend this conference and feel the Spirit of the Lord.

Please make note of the following meeting schedule and attendance details:

Saturday, February 28, 2026, 3:00pm—5:00pm: Stake Leadership Session. All adult members of Stake and Ward Councils and their Presidencies, including secretaries, are invited to attend in-person at the Stake Center (This includes High Councilors, Bishoprics, Clerks, Executive Secretaries, Elders Quorum, Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary, Young Women presidencies, and Ward Mission Leaders).

Saturday, February 28, 2026, 7:00pm—9:00pm: Adult Evening Session. All adult members of Stake age 18 and older are invited to attend this session.

Sunday, March 1, 2026, 10:00am-12:00pm: General Session. All members of the Stake of all ages are invited to attend this session.

We also remind you of the Stake Temple & Family History week which will take place the week of February 17-21, 2026 (prior to the temple closing); and we ask for your participation in Temple & Family History work of any kind during this week in conjunction with and preparation for this Stake Conference.

With great anticipation, we look forward to sharing this Stake Conference together.

Funeral services for President Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be held in the Tabernacle on Temple Square on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. MST.

President Holland died on December 27, 2025, in Salt Lake City at the age of 85.

The funeral will be open to the public ages 8 and older. Seating in the Tabernacle will be available to the public with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. Admission to the Tabernacle will be on a space available basis. Overflow seating will be made available as appropriate.

President Dallin H. Oaks will preside and Elder Quentin L. Cook, a former mission companion of President Holland, will conduct the service. The program will include remarks by members of the Holland family. Music will be provided by the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.

The funeral services will be streamed live and available on demand on ChurchofJesusChrist.org and on YouTube.com/churchofjesuschrist.

Update from Elder Samuel Keele of the Pelican Creek Ward, from his service in the Michigan Detroit Mission:

“I just want to be able to just need to give all my might and to not look back, and I really have tried to that I wish to live life with no regrets and something that had also really helped me on my mission is, “fear no man”. I have that written on the bathroom mirror in almost every apartment I’ve been in and it really helps to not be scared to be bold or just talk. Opening the mouth is the hardest part but so worth it. Trust in Christ and Heavenly Father they trust you. Elder Keele”

With heavy hearts, we announce that President Jeffrey R. Holland, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died today at approximately 3:15 a.m. MST from complications associated with kidney disease, while surrounded by his family. He was 85.

“My total responsibility … is to bear witness of the Lord Jesus Christ,” President Holland said hours after he was called to be an Apostle in 1994. “As inadequate as I feel, it is the most pleasant and most rewarding and most thrilling assignment a man can have in this world.”
