We trace our origins to the Church that Jesus founded in the early first century. Like Jesus, we worship together each week on the seventh-day Sabbath. We also believe in the commanded observance of the seven annual Holy Days given to ancient Israel by God and kept by Jesus Christ, the apostles and the New Testament Church. Together with the weekly Sabbath, these annual Sabbaths or Holy Days reveal God's plan of salvation. The United Church of God, today with congregations in more than 40 countries, believes that our commission is to proclaim the gospel of the coming Kingdom of God to all the world as a witness and to teach all nations to observe what Christ commanded (Matthew:24:14)
