Dr. Shelton Murphy was born in Smithfield, N. to the late Sam & Louise Murphy. Dr. Murphy married Doris Annette James. They have been married for 32 years. From this union God blessed them with a son, Shelton Josiah Murphy, a graduate from Howard University, Washington, D. Dr. Murphy attended N. State University, Raleigh, N. where he received his B. He just recently completed a M.S. in Church Management from Villanova University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Murphy a former Campus Pastor, State & Federal Prison Chaplain, Hospital Chaplain, Rehabilitation Counselor & Navy Chaplain, now serves as the celebrated Pastor of Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, Va.
