A chur

ch with a heart in the heart of the city! We are a Baptist church.
• We are a worshiping body of believers who profess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We know him through Holy Scriptures - the Bible - inspired by God who reveals His truth directly to us. The church exists to worship God and share the Good News of God’s loving grace in Christ to a hurting world.
• We value the Priesthood of every Believer. Each person must work out a relationship with God. Every individual at Freemason Street is on a spiritual pilgrimage and is nurtured toward a personal encounter with God, our Creator in Christ Jesus, our Redeemer, by the Holy Spirit, our Sustainer. We feel no one has the right to enforce a creed or manipulate others. We respect the individual conscience.
• We value missions and evangelism. Jesus’ call to love neighbor as self requires us to use our gifts and talents to meet the needs of the world and share God’s love. Therefore, each member is encouraged to seek God’s call of service - to love God, live lives of mercy and justice and share the “Good News” in Christ.
• We value being the Family of God - the “church.”
We are a “covenant community” - united in serving God and our world. We are here for each other throughout the journey of life, to encourage spiritual growth and maturity, to comfort the wounded and celebrate with the joyful. Through worship and ministry, we seek to be a family of faith.
• We promote the free church in a free state. As Baptists, we affirm each congregation as self-governing, even while seeking ecumenical relationships. We also support a clear separation of church and state.

“The central reality of Baptist Christian faith is built on the freedom we have in Christ to respond to the empowering, saving word, the call of the Spirit, freely.”

This past Sunday, Pastor Bob preached on Galatians 2:15-21, with his sermon entitled, "A Baptism of Fire for the Church and What Baptist Christians Believed." The full service can be viewed at https://vimeo.com/showcase/7009992.

"The Wisdom from Above" (Prov 8:1-8 and James 3:17-18)

Please join us tomorrow for a special morning with Dr. Mark Biddle, Founding Dean of Sophia Theological Seminary and Sophia Farm, for a conversation about the intersection of caring for creation and God's intentions for the world, including you and us. The worship service begins at 11:00 a.m.

Sophia Theological Seminary is a Christian graduate institution offering a 27-month Master of Divinity degree, built around the values of inclusion, community, and transformational ministry. What makes it distinctive is its integration with Sophia Farms — rather than paying traditional tuition, students contribute up to ten hours per week of farm labor, with the farm's proceeds funding the seminary's operations. The curriculum blends academic disciplines with practical ministry in an intentionally inclusive, ecumenical environment centered on living and learning in harmony with creation and one another.
