Life without God

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Galatians 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Galatians 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

One of my bible studies this morning:

Your Mind is a Battlefield

What consumes your mind will control your life. We all know this: our thoughts shape our reality.
• If your mind is filled with negativity, fear, and doubt, your life will reflect that.
• But if your heart is anchored in truth, peace, and hope, you’ll live with strength and confidence.

So why do we still let toxic thoughts take over? Because the enemy wants to win the battle for your mind. He knows that if he can plant seeds of fear, insecurity, or discouragement, he can keep you from walking in the life God has for you.

But here’s the good news: you don’t have to let those thoughts stay. Today, we’re talking about how to take control of your thoughts, protect your heart, and renew your mind so that you can truly live well.

Focus Your Thoughts on What Is Good

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Philippians 4:8

Paul understood something powerful: your thoughts determine your direction.
• If you’re constantly focusing on your failures, you’ll walk in insecurity.
• If you’re always dwelling on fear, you’ll live in anxiety.
• If you fill your mind with negativity, your joy will disappear.

That’s why Paul tells us to be intentional about what we think about. He gives us a filter:

Is this thought true, or is it a lie? Is this thought bringing me peace, or is it stirring up fear? Is this thought rooted in God’s promises, or is it based on doubt?

If your thoughts don’t align with what is true, noble, pure, lovely, or praiseworthy—they don’t belong in your mind.

Guard Your Heart Diligently

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Proverbs 4:23

Your heart is the wellspring of your life. Whatever is inside will eventually come out.
• If your heart is filled with bitterness, your words and actions will reflect it.
• If your heart is filled with fear, your decisions will be controlled by it.
• If your heart is filled with faith, your life will overflow with confidence in God.

That’s why God calls us to protect it. How?
• Be mindful of what you consume. What you watch, listen to, and dwell on shapes your heart.
• Set boundaries. Not every conversation, show, or social media post is healthy for your heart.
• Fill your heart with God’s truth. The more you meditate on Scripture, the stronger your heart becomes.

Do an inventory: Are there things—social media, relationships, entertainment—that are feeding worry, comparison, or negativity? Remove what’s toxic and replace it with truth.

Renew Your Mind with God’s Word

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

The world will try to shape your thoughts. It will tell you: “You’re not enough.” “You have to prove your worth.” “You should be afraid of the future.”

But God says: Let me transform the way you think.

How do you renew your mind?

1. Fill it with God’s Word daily. The more you read and meditate on Scripture, the more it reshapes your thinking.
2. Surround yourself with godly influences. The people you listen to will impact your mindset.
3. Take every thought captive. If a thought doesn’t align with God’s truth, reject it and replace it with what is right.

Winning the Battle for Your Mind

You don’t have to let fear, anxiety, negativity, or doubt control you. God has given you everything you need to have a healthy mind and heart.
• Fix your thoughts on what is good.
• Guard your heart against what is toxic.
• Renew your mind daily with God’s truth.

And when you do? You will walk in freedom, peace, and clarity.
