Praise God from whom all blessings flow. The Lord is enabling our workers in Uganda to make great progress toward the completion of our AST UG building.
We greatly appreciate your prayers and financial support in getting us closer and closer to opening this much needed facility which be our base of operations in serving Asia, Africa, and other parts of the world.
We are thankful for Dr. Sarah Apio (AST UG, President) who is overseeing this massive project which, when completed, will prove to be a tremendous God-given hub of operations in offering theological training to thousands of students throughout Asia and Africa.
Through her guidance we now have satellite schools in Dubai, Kenya, and will soon open another location in Malawi.
Our prayer is simple: That our Father would coninuously connect us with the right partners in missions and ministry to further the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you, your church, or organization are looking for a great investment in our Father's Kingdom with great partners in ministry, let's talk.

Here's an opportunity for both our foreign and domestic students as you work toward completeing your degree programs.

Update on our AST UG Building Progress. We rejoice with the blessings of the Lord our God on the progress of the work in Uganda, across Africa and also in Asia.
This week the painter's will be applying the base coat / primer to all of the inside and out as well as the security wall around the building and property. As such our AST UG Team is busy choosing the exterior and interior colors which the painters will apply after the primer has cured.
We have already secured an interior designer who is hard at work preparing for the intallation of the kitchen cabinets, counter tops, sinks, blinds, and curtains throughout the facility. After this we will install a commercial gas cooking stove, commercial refirgerator, and light fixtures. So you could say we've down to the finishing touches which will enable us to occupy the building.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our architect and contractor whom we call Amooti, his engineer, and all of our workers who have given so much of their time and energy to complete this project in less than a year. They have been wonderful to work with and have given so much of their personal time and attention to to the project.
There are some other items which we will need to add to the building such as a solar powered backup system, security cameras and intercom, internet and cable, an electric fence to be added to our security wall and an automatic gate motor with remote.
The estimated cost of furnishing the building inside is going to be approximately $15,000 US dollars and we're estimating the remainder to be somewhere around $5,000 for a total of $20,000.
This price doesn't include any leveling or paving of the property around the school building. We hope to do a lot of the leveling work ourselves and hopefully do some paving or concrete work in the future.
If you, your church, or organization would like to help in the completion of this greatly needed project please let me assure you that every dollar you give will go directly to the completion of the school without any overhead costs.
So, if you feel the Spirit of God leading you to help us complete this, please don't delay. And remember, no gift is too small or too large. At the present time we have more than 8,000 students in Africa alone who will benefit greatly from AST UG.
Gifts can be given electonically by going to our website at astva.org or be mailed to: Appalachian School of Theology, 11606 Nickelsville Hwy., Nickelsville, VA 24271. You can also drop your gifts off anytime at our church office.
Thanks so much for your support, your encouragement, and above all for your prayers. Blessings to everyone who has been so supportive of our efforts to bless the great people of Uganda. And our African Coordinator and President, Dr. Sarah Apio, asked me to thank each of you personally.
We promise to share pictures of the beautiful facility soon.

Here's an update on the many wonderful ministries of our school in the US and UG. Throughout the last week our AST UG team was on the go traveling to different regions in Kenya promoting theological training with Pastor David Cheromei and many other pastors who met at Grace Fellowship Church. Then they traveled to Nairobi to visit Pastor Martine and Joseph where they met with 50 pastors who are intested in furthering their theological studies through AST UG.
Last Sunday we had an online Zoom Meeting with Pastor David and officially launched AST Kenya that will be led by David and other pastors.
In each location our AST UG team of 8 preached, taught, and distributed Bibles to all students as we have promised to provide Bibles to everyone enrolled in AST. In Kenya alone they distributed 500+ Bibles to pastors.
After returning our AST UG Team visited the construction site which is nearing completion in spite of the UG government levying a $38,500 tax on the building, which we were forced to pay so the construction could continue. Many, many thanks to all who contribbuted to satisfy the demands of UG government officals. We did have to borrow $25,000 to come up with this amount from a family that floated us an interest free loan on this amount.
Today our UG team has traveled to Northern UG to distribute more bibles to students who are enrolled.
At the present time we have approximately 8,000 African pastors and church leaders enrolled in our study program through AST UG and US. Some are working on certificates, while others are enrolled in our Associates, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Programs.
God is richly blessing our little school that started with humble and small beginnings in Nickelsville Virginia and He is expanding our borders rapidly as we also have one school in Asia located in Dubai. In the fall of this year we will launch another African school in Malawi. In addition, we have requests to launch schools in Ghana and also in India. From small beginnings God does great things. Halleljuah! To Him be the glory!
And on the first Sunday in May in our AST graduation ceremony at 3 PM, hosted by Nickelsville First Baptist Church, Sarah Apio will offically become Dr. Sarah Apio along with Dr. Tammy Lane, and Dr. Melanie McMurray.
God is using these ladies who are doing fantastic work in advancing our Father's Kingdom through theological training around the globe. To Him be praise and glory forever and ever! AMEN!
If you have a desire to join with us in these and many more ministries please reach out to us. And please know we are ready and willing to come to your church and speak anytime you would like to host us and share with you and your church the many wonderful things God is doing though Appalachian School of Theology that's located in downtown Nickelsville.
Many, many blessings to all.

We're excited about our upcoming Spring Semester that will begin January 19th, 2026 at our Nickelsville campus. We're offering "Demonology" which is a class we've never seen offered at a Bible College, Seminary, or School of Theology.
Our instructor for the course will be Dr. Sarah Apio who also serves as our AST US African coordinator and also as President of AST UG. She has put much work into this class and it may well be the most in depth and interesting class we've offered.
If you're interested you can download the syllabus for the class at our website: astva.org and student registation forms are available there as well.
This is a 3 hour course that we're offering at all levels - Associates, Bachelors, Masters & Doctorate and tuition is affordable. Or you can choose to audit the class as well. And the only textbook we'll be using in this class is the Bible.
Either way this is going to be a class you won't want to miss.
