"Megan and I are retired Air Force. We've used the Financial Peace ideas for years. The system has 7-steps. We are on step-7. This includes investing for retirement, investing for our children's future, our house is paid off and we have a good emergency fund. It is supposed to be when life is really, really good.

We have all heard of Murphy's Law. If something can go wrong, it will. Last year from March to July, Murphy moved into our house and we are working to kick him out. In March, our son got a concussion during a baseball game. When the EMS supervisor says he needs to be helicoptered to the children's hospital in Pensacola, you don't say no. The ambulance ride was $1,200. The helicopter ride was $81,400. In April, we had an unexpected $60,000 tax bill and in July we had to replace the air conditioner in our house ($15,000). That is $157,000 in six months!

In FPU we teach about insurance, budgeting and emergency funds. We also learn that medical bills are the number one expense that bankrupts a family. We have good insurance and it should cover the medical bills. We are still coordinating with the insurance company, but it should work out. Our emergency fund covered the air-conditioning and most of the tax bill. We tightened our budget to pay off the remainder of the tax and refill our emergency fund.

If we hadn't prepared our family finances and insurance, we would have been ruined by the last few months. But that didn't happen. It will take a bit, but we will be okay.

I lead Financial Peace so that other can have the same security and peace of mind."

Hey, Niceville! We have a FAMILY DISCIPLESHIP Seminar with David Sunde, this weekend!

Join us Sunday, August 30, at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary for a free parenting workshop with Dr. David Sunde, author of Homegrown Disciples. Together we'll discover four relational windows where faith is passed from one generation to the next.

Share or tag a friend who would love to join you for this one-time event!

This workshop is especially designed for parents of children from Pre-K through middle school. Childcare will not be available.

Together in the Word is a church-wide discipleship journey through the New Testament designed to help every person, from kids to adults, develop a consistent rhythm of engaging God's Word and grow together in our understanding of Scripture.

More than just a Bible reading plan, Together in the Word is also a sermon series. Each Sunday, we'll preach from a passage in that week's reading, helping us connect what we're learning throughout the week with what we're experiencing in worship.

One of the biggest sources of stress in people’s lives—including their spiritual lives—is money.

Our church is hosting a Financial Peace University class starting on Wednesday, 02 Sept at 6PM.

This class is for anyone who wants to manage their money better and become a good steward of their money for God’s glory. This isn't for someone struggling with money, this is for anyone who wants to grow in this area of stewardship!

You’ll learn how to master a budget, pay off debt, invest for the future, and become a more generous giver.

This is a nine-week class, taught by Dave Ramsey and his team of experts, where we’ll walk through biblical principles of how to handle money.
