Pastor Troy has decided to retire from the ministry as of June 30, 2026. He is looking forward to spending additional time with his family and grandchildren and a more flexible work schedule.

I would like to thank Pastor Troy for all he has done for our church and congregation. I ask for your help to make this a smooth transition and that we may continue to grow and build upon the foundation Pastor Troy has set for us.

It is my joy to also share that Bishop Hector A. Burgos-Nunez has appointed Rev. Cheryl Brown as the new pastor of our congregation. Pastor Cheryl will begin her new responsibilities on July 1st of this year. As a United Methodist congregation, we are a part of an itinerant appointment system. Our congregation’s staff parish relations committee has met with the district superintendent to identify our congregation’s needs, and the skills needed in a pastor for our context. We also met with Cheryl to get to know her and to ask questions.

Our new pastor will work with us and the conference so that we continue to nurture disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Bishop Burgoz-Nunez, our district superintendent Mary Kelly, and the Upper New York Conference leaders will work with us to continue growing as a congregation. I know you will join our bishop, our new pastor, and me in helping make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

The Newfane United Methodist Church located on Main Street in Newfane (Route 78) has worship on Sundays at 9:30am! Follow their page for updates about all their special events all year long! Their Newfane Methodist Farmer's Market starts back up on June 24th!
