Let’s fill those baskets at our parishes with sleepers for Newborns In Need.

St John the Baptist Lockport, New York St. Brendan on the Lake

It's September and that means it's the start of our biggest campaign of the year! Sleepers in September runs from now until the end of October. We are collecting sleepers to help keep our local babies warm during the colder months. We will have baskets at All Saints Catholic Church, St. Brendan's on the Lake, Our Lady of the Lake, and St John the Baptist Catholic Church. If you are willing to be a donation site or would like more information please reach out.

As a new school year begins this week across Western New York, let us pray for all students, their teachers, and staff. May you have a wonderful school year ahead!

God of wisdom and might,
we praise you for the wonder of our being,
for mind, body and spirit.
Be with our children as they begin
a new school year.
Bless them and their teachers and staff.
Give the strength and grace as their bodies grow;
wisdom and knowledge to their minds
as they search for understanding;
and peace and zeal to their hearts.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Have you been thinking about Baptism for yourself or your child?

We are blessed to have received so many inquiries recently, and it fills us with joy to help families take this beautiful step in their faith journey.

Baptism is one of the most cherished and meaningful sacraments celebrated throughout the Christian Church. It marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, welcoming us into the family of Christ and reminding us of God’s incredible love and grace.

If you’d like to learn more about Baptism or begin the process, we’re here to help!

📞 Please call the Central Niagara Catholic Family (CNCF) Office at 716-433-8118. We’d be honored to answer your questions and share information about this beautiful sacrament.

In this drawing, we see an artist's sketch of the spires belonging to what was formerly named St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lockport, NY. Today, the church exists under the name All Saints Roman Catholic Parish. Accompanying the drawing is a handwritten note on the reverse, signed with the name “Loraine B. Rogers.” While little else is known about the artist, this small clue suggests a deeply personal connection to the scene. According to the note, the sketch was created during the artist’s youth, placing its creation around the turn of the 20th century. The artist recalls creating the sketch from the cupola of their family home at 112 Caledonia Street, offering a unique, elevated view of the church's spires. The home, later to become the property of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), is described as one of the oldest stone houses in Lockport. Although under a different name, the building that was formerly St. Patrick's Church retains its architecture and its notable spires. Beyond its artistic value, the sketch becomes a kind of informal document of lived memory. The drawing seems to be completed in ink on paper that has been cut into a circle and pasted onto a hardboard-like material to give it support. The Parish, which the Diocese of Buffalo announced would merge with St. John’s, has appealed that decree and it is currently under review.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible Lockport Catholic Faith Formation catechists at the St. Joe’s Campus for taking the time to attend our Teacher Training!

This year’s theme, “Who Do You Say I Am?”, challenged each of us to reflect on our own relationship with Christ and the powerful role we play in helping our young people encounter Him. Together, we explored how sharing our personal faith can inspire others, learned practical ways to teach using a variety of learning styles so every child can thrive, and completed our annual Bloodborne Pathogens training to ensure a safe environment for all.

A very special thank you to Dr. Kelly Foltz-Ramos for serving as our guest presenter.

As we prepare for a new year of Faith Formation, we are grateful for each catechist who has answered God’s call to share the Gospel. We can’t wait to welcome our students and grow together in faith!
