We are deeply grateful to announce that our Come Home With Us: Earth as Sangha has received generous support for our land acquisition from the KatalyFoundation.

This gift is a vital anchor for a time sensitive opportunity: acquiring the property adjacent to our sangha home in the 7th Ward of New Orleans. This will help transition Sangha House from a shared duplex into a more permanent, standalone retreat and community center, securing lasting ground for our garden, the Freedom Library, and the full arc of our transformation and healing programs.

The Kataly Foundation’s commitment to shifting resources toward frontline communities makes them a powerful partner in building an alternative to extractive practices and a regenerative sanctuary for New Orleans. Thank you, Kataly Foundation, for believing in contemplative practice, spiritual resilience, and collective liberation and for helping us secure a home for the triple gems.

This campaign is built on the belief that it takes a whole village to ground this work permanently. Thank you to all our relations who share and believe in our work.

A rare expansion opportunity has arisen for us to deepen and expand our capacity to serve New Orleans.

Sangha House emerged from a simple but urgent truth: People need spaces where healing is possible: Sangha House has held space for over 3,000 healing journeys and counting. This is beloved community in practice.

Sangha House has become a sanctuary for people seeking refuge from isolation, burnout, trauma, and systemic harm. Through its services and orientation, it provides an alternative to extractive practices and creates a new regenerative model.

Sangha House emerged from a simple but urgent truth: people need spaces where healing is possible.

Sangha House has become a sanctuary for people seeking refuge from isolation, burnout, trauma, and systemic harm, offering an alternative to extractive practices and a new regenerative model in their place.

In New Orleans, few spaces exist where all of these can coexist under one roof. Sangha House has held space for over 3,000 healing journeys and counting.

This campaign is an opportunity to transform philanthropic giving from transactional support into investment in permanent community infrastructure, grounding Sangha House for its next phase of evolution and ensuring its practices, relationships, and leadership remain rooted in New Orleans for generations to come.

We are navigating a time-sensitive opportunity to acquire the residential property adjacent to our existing headquarters: an intentional act of restoring community stewardship of land in the 7th Ward. The acquisition transitions Sangha House from a shared duplex to a standalone retreat and community center, securing permanent ground for the garden, the Freedom Library, and the full arc of our programming.

A total investment of $1,355,000 is required to secure and activate this sanctuary. A $200,000 commitment from the Kataly Foundation has been acquired.

We invite additional stakeholders to contribute to the remaining $1,155,000, bridging the funding gap, making this vital anchor in New Orleans permanent, and deepening our living relationship with the Earth and with the generations who call this place home.

We built this campaign believing it would take a whole community, not just a checkbook, to get there.

Know grant writing? Are you well connected with philanthropists who want to invest in healing justice, cooperative economies, and spiritual resilience? Are you skilled at planning fundraising events? We’re actively looking for support in these areas.

If any of this sounds like you, email [email protected] to share ways your connections and skill sets can benefit the greater community here in Bulbancha. 🙏🏾
