Sometimes we ask God for patience, courage, love, or trust -- and then life gives us a hard moment instead.

That can feel confusing.

But maybe God is not ignoring us. Maybe the answer is coming in a form we did not expect.

A slow line.
A difficult conversation.
A chance to forgive.
A moment where we have to be brave.

God may be working not only around us, but within us.

You do not have to have everything figured out to belong here. There is room for questions, doubts, and growing faith.

What opportunity might be hidden in front of you this week?

Have you ever prayed for patience, courage, love, or trust… and then life got harder?Maybe God was not ignoring the pray...

Have you ever prayed for patience, courage, love, or trust… and then life got harder?

Maybe God was not ignoring the prayer. Maybe the answer came as an opportunity to grow.

This Sunday, we’ll reflect on how God may be working in the moments we did not ask for.

Join us Sunday at 10:00am for worship! You belong here!

Between Sundays
Where faith meets ordinary life.

Some prayers feel quiet. For many of our prayers, we have no way of knowing how God responded.

Most of us, at one time or another, have wondered, "Does God hear me?" 1 John 5:14 gives us our answer:

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.'

My friends God hears you.

This week, reflect on what you've recently asked of God. What motivated you to ask? Was it according to his will?

Knowing you are heard, what will you bring to God today?

On Sunday, we observed Trinity Sunday - reflecting on God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Hard to believe Trinity Sunday isn't about Trinity Church, right? 😀)

That can sound like a mystery, and it is. But at the heart of it is something simple and beautiful: God is love.

The Father creates us in love.
Jesus comes near to us with grace.
The Spirit helps us in ordinary life.

Before we do or accomplish anything, we are already loved.

This week, choose just one relationship you have with someone. Anyone. And ask: How can I reflect the love of the Triune God here? The love of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit?

God bless each of you this week! And see you next week at Trinity Church!

Between Sundays
Where faith meets ordinary life.

Kindness can be practical.

“Honor one another above yourselves” (Romans 12:10 NIV) can begin with one small choice: let someone else feel seen today. Give the first smile. Ask the extra question. Let another person go first. Send the message you’ve been meaning to send.

Love does not always need a grand gesture.

Who could you quietly honor this week?

This Sunday, we reflected on Pentecost and the promise that God does not leave people to carry life alone.

The story begins with ordinary people waiting, unsure what would come next. Then the Spirit comes like wind and fire - not to destroy them, but to fill them with courage, hope, and love.

We also remembered, on Memorial Day weekend, the cost of sacrifice and the call to live with gratitude, humility, and peace.

Whether your faith feels strong, uncertain, or somewhere in between, there is room for you here.

What might it look like for your heart to be warmed again with hope? Or even set ablaze by the Holy Spirit?

Between Sundays
Where faith meets ordinary life.

We are not meant to carry everything alone. A shared meal, a check-in, a ride, a prayer, or a quiet conversation can help someone keep going.

Ecclesiastes reminds us, “Two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9), and “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12).

This week, who could you help hold up?

This Sunday, we reflected on Power at Work from Ephesians 1:15–23. We often think of power as something loud — control, influence, money, titles, or force.

But there is another kind of power: quiet, steady, and life-giving.
It shows up in hope when life feels heavy.
It shows up in ordinary acts of love.
It shows up at kitchen tables, hospital beds, workplaces, school hallways, grocery aisles, and difficult phone calls.

Ascension Sunday reminds us that Jesus is not absent or distant. He is still at work among ordinary people in ordinary places.

You don’t have to have everything figured out to belong here.

Where might hope be quietly showing up in your life this week?

Between Sundays
Where faith meets ordinary life.

Love can be seen. Not just in big moments, but in the way we speak, listen, forgive, serve, and make room for others.

Peter says to “live such good lives” among others that they may notice what is good (1 Peter 2:12, NIV). Extravagant love is not loud. It is steady, generous, and real.

Who might need to see love through you this week?

Mother’s Day can hold many feelings at once: gratitude, joy, memory, grief, longing, and love.

Today we give thanks for mothers, grandmothers, and all who have offered steady, nurturing care. We also remember those for whom this day is tender or complicated.

Scripture often describes God’s love with images of comfort, protection, patience, and compassion. The best love we receive in this life is never perfect, but it can still point us toward the One whose love never fails.

May today be gentle.
May gratitude rise where it can.
May grace meet every heart where it is.

Happy Mother's Day from your brothers and sisters in Christ at Trinity Church of New Lebanon!
