70 to 85 percent of inmates grew up without a Father. It is our mission at Marked 4 Life to preach the truth that they do have a heavenly father that loves and except them.
How can you help the need?
Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 to ask, seek, and knock.
1. We have already spoken to him and now you! We are asking you and seeking places to minister. We are knocking, believing you will open the door for us. Reach out in messenger for availability.
2. Pray! Pray for those that are in prison and David as he preaches 3 times a week.
3. Help give to our housing project. Go to www.marked4lifeministries.org we are a 501 c3 non profit organization.
Thank you for your love and support!

My name is D.A. I have been incarcerated for almost 17 years. Chaplain Balzer has been an integral part of my spiritual growth and development for the better part of a decade. When I met him, I was still on the fence about committing my life to serving God. I was still in bo***ge of addiction, lust, anger and the like. At the time, I had been attending church regularly out of habit and mainly because I was tired of lying to my mother on the phone. She would always ask if I was going to church. When I was introduced to Chaplain Balzer's enthusiastic and dynamic way of delivering his sermons, immediately I could feel a genuine quality from him. This was a person who really cared about his congregation, who really wanted to share with us how much God changed his life and who wanted us to experience God like he had. That genuine quality is what kept me coming to church. I got to know Chaplain Balzer not just as a Sunday preacher, but also as a counselor and confidant. There were multiple times where he called me into his office on a day other than Sunday just to see how I was doing. He would share with me how he saw God working in my life. He would share personal stories from his past of how God had delivered him from personal struggles. These conversations further led me to believe in his genuine desire for the men in his flock to come to Christ and experience him in a new way. I continued to gravitate to him. I never got a sense from him that was judgmental nor that he saw himself as being better than us inmates. I remember a specific conversation I had with him a few weeks after my parole was denied for the second time. He was trying to encourage me in the Lord. I felt low at that time. I felt that I had achieved over and beyond what the parole board expected from me and was naturally dismayed to be denied again. Chaplain Balzer must have sensed that I was doubting whether God cared about me. He made it clear to me that God's love for me was not something I earned or could ever earn. He said I needed to stop doing things with the intention of earning God's love/favor akin to checking items off a list. That was a pivotal moment in my life being able to somewhat understand that I was loved by God, not because of anything I did or did not do, was the catalyst that increased my quest to know more about God. I started reading my Bible more and praying more. My intentions for regular church attendance switched from a begrudging duty to a desire to be in the House of God. It seems odd to say but I have had a more fulfilling and robust life (with God) while incarcerated than I ever did when I wasn't incarcerated. God has blessed me greatly through various employment opportunities, favor among the inmates and staff, a closer bond with my family, good health, the best sleep I have ever had in my life, the assurance that He is working in my life and countless other thing that I am not even aware of. I believe that God used Chaplain Balzer to bring me into a closer fellowship with him. I am grateful to God for increasing my faith and I am grateful to Chaplain Balzer for allowing himself to be used by God to be a blessing to all those he encounters on a daily basis.

Ask, seek and knock! Its a Bible verse you leaned as a kid. It is familiar. But when it hits differently in your heart wow it can change you. If you want to do something way beyond your means you ask the father who loves you so so much. It is his pleasure to give to you. Seek, seek his face, be with him, dwell in his presence Search for him and know him in all his ways and knock, knock and the door will be open to you. David and I love to share God's word with everyone. We are knocking on your door asking for opportunities to do just that! Do you know of a place that would blessed by our ministry? Get us in contact with them. Do you know of a transitional housing unit that we could sow into? Get us in contact with them. We are knocking and we know the door will be opened.

Luke 6:40 (NKJV): A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.

A friend sent me this photo. I adored it for a long time. She learned from us by teaching and demonstration. She knew what place I was in. The stuggles I was facing at that time. She knew she could not help me but to pray for me. No one told her what to do. She just knew. She is a disciple.

At Marked4lifeministries, Ex-Incarcerated men are going to do the same. They will be perfectly trained to be like Jesus. We will teach and demonstrate how to live a full, rich life in Christ and watch them become just like him.

Astonishing Truth About an Ex-Incarcerated Man! Last weekend, I had the profound privilege of meeting a man who spent 20 years behind bars. On his very first day of parole, he stepped into a Subway, and as he gazed at the menu, he was overwhelmed, unsure of how to take the next step - ordering. Can you fathom the challenge of navigating a world that has transformed beyond recognition? The daunting reality hit me deeply. After two decades of incarceration, the world had evolved without him, leaving him struggling to grasp even the simplest tasks like ordering food! Imagine the hurdles he'd face when applying for jobs online or using self-service checkouts at grocery stores. The question echoes: What else has changed in this rapidly evolving society? The answer is.... EVERYTHING!!! At Marked4lifeministries, we're committed to bridging this gap, guiding these individuals towards becoming productive members of society. We believe that with Godly mentorship, they can discover a path forward and break the cycle of going back to prision within three years! There's a critical need for support. If this resonates with you, please consider joining us today at www.marked4lifeministries.org, and see how your contribution can make a difference.

We had a good time at Jubilee Ministries. We met the CEO, Ryan Newswanger and Chief Mission Officer, Jon Freed. We learned so much about their mission on serving those affected by incarceration. The operation at Jubilee is a fantastic well oiled machine. They were so willing to share everything with us. All of the successes and failures. In my opinion, there was not enough time spent there to learn all we need to know but we have that point of contact to mentor us along the way. Praise the Lord!

Prayers for David, I and the Marked 4 Life board on January 30th is appreciated.

We will be traveling to Jubilee Ministries. They have been up and running for over 50 years and invited us to go down to tour the facility and give us some insight and education on transitional housing. We are excited!!
