A couple of years ago, Shannon Haines and I started talking about how awesome it would be to have a women’s retreat within the ladies in our congregation. This year we took a deep breath and decided it was time! We are currently planning one for the end of September, and we are thrilled!

As a fundraiser for it, we are selling vouchers for Sharar’s subs on the square in Newport! Simply buy the voucher between now and September 13 for your choice of a turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, or Italian sub. Then, from September 13 through October 4, you can redeem your voucher for a fresh, made to order sub! Vouchers are $7 each, and will help offset our costs.

Wasn’t Elaine Peach wonderful this morning?! This is the event where she and her band (Peach and the Pickers) will be playing this Saturday. Hope you will consider attending!

What a blessing it is to have Pastor Marian Hartman as guest minister on Blessing of the Backpack Sunday! She brought her parrot puppet to share a good message with the children. Some brought their new backpacks, some went home with new backpacks! Regardless of which, ALL are now blessed for a good new school year!!!
