A reminder that our office will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

As we enter Memorial Day weekend, let’s remember that Monday is not just another day off or a good opportunity to gather with friends and family for the first summer cookout or trek to the Shore. It began in response to the incredible loss of life and damage to communities during the Civil War, and it was moved to the last Monday of May in 1971.

Countless families have suffered incredible loss due to military conflicts, and perhaps this weekend’s forecast reflects how difficult it is to grapple with that history and reality in our nation and our world.
