This is just the beginning. 🌱

We're honored to share that Goodfaith has received a $125,000 grant from The Drexel Project by NFCYM. Every dollar is going directly into expanding Next Level, one of the programs through which we form young people as protagonists of their faith.

Next Level helps youth do something powerful: listen to their communities, design real service projects, and lead them. This investment lets us take that work further and reach more parishes, in more places, regardless of geography or budget.

But Next Level is one piece of a much bigger vision. From family faith formation to digital ministry to research that's reshaping how the Church accompanies young people, we're building a movement of faith in action. And we're just getting started.

Grateful to The Drexel Project and National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) for investing in what's next.

Juneteenth (19 de junio) se convirtió en feriado estatal en Nueva Jersey en el otoño de 2020, y se agregó oficialmente como feriado federal hace apenas 5 años en 2021.

La celebración marca un día en 1865 cuando los tejanxs esclavizadxs se enteraron de que serían libres, dos meses después de que terminara la Guerra Civil y dos años y medio después de que el presidente Abraham Lincoln emitiera la Proclamación de Emancipación.

La historia compleja y dolorosa de los afroamericanxs aquí en los Estados Unidos de América está profundamente ligada a las experiencias traumáticas de los afrolatinxs. ‘Juneteenth’ es una oportunidad para, como comunidad y como nación, reconocer y luchar con la complejidad de nuestro pasado, celebrar la cultura y el activismo, y continuar la lucha por la justicia y la libertad de la opresión para TODXS.

Juneteenth (June 19th) became a state holiday in New Jersey in the fall of 2020, and it was officially added as a federal holiday just 5 years ago in 2021.

The celebration marks a day in 1865 when enslaved Texans learned they would be free—two months after the Civil War ended and two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

We encourage you to attend and support the events planned for today and this weekend!

The complex and painful history of African Americans here in the United States is deeply connected with the traumatic experiences of Afro-Latinos. Juneteenth is an opportunity for as a community and as a nation to acknowledge and wrestle with the complexity of our past, celebrate culture and activism, and continue the struggle for justice and freedom from oppression for ALL.

RECORDATORIO: ¡Únete al Programa de Cáritas y nuestrxs colegas comunitarios de NJ Monuments to Migration and Labor, coLAB Arts, Rutgers University, Unity Square con Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen, Esperanza Neighborhood Project, New Brunswick Tomorrow y New Brunswick City Government para la inauguración oficial de En Root: Un Monumento a la Migración y al Trabajo MAÑANA (jueves) en el parque Oaxaca (War Memorial Park). Es una nueva obra pública inspiradora del artista Chat Travieso, celebra el trabajo y el impacto cultural de los inmigrantes en toda la región y fue moldeada directamente por SUS voces y experiencias a lo largo de meses de conversaciones y colaboración comunitaria.

El evento contará con presentaciones en vivo de nuestro Grupo de Danza Folklorica La Sagrada Familia., música y actividades artísticas para toda la familia, con comida disponible para la venta de increíbles vendedores locales. ¡Esperamos verte allí y consultan el volante para más detalles!

REMINDER: Join the Caritas Program and our community partners from NJ Monuments to Migration and Labor, coLAB Arts, Rutgers University, Unity Square with Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen, Esperanza Neighborhood Project, New Brunswick Tomorrow, and New Brunswick City Government for the official unveiling of En Root: A Monument to Migration and Labor TOMORROW (Thursday) in Oaxaca Park (War Memorial Park) where French Street and Jersey Avenue meet. It’s an inspiring new public work by artist Chat Travieso, celebrates the labor and cultural impact of immigrants throughout the region, and was shaped directly by YOUR voices and experiences throughout months of conversations and community collaboration.

The event will feature live performances by our Grupo de Danza Folklorica La Sagrada Familia., music, and art activities for the whole family, with food available for purchase from amazing local vendors. We hope to see you there and check out the flyer for more details!
