It’s a calling somebody receives.

Prophecy always points to the creator. The power of prophecy is to serve the body.

A PROPER PROPHET ACKNOWLEDGES JESUS and DOES what He DID

He acknowledges Jesus in the flesh because Jesus came to humbly serve. Truth without spirit is cold; even cruel. Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to serve the purposes of the gospel

A proper prophet:
1. Does not introduce themselves as a prophet (Amos 7:14)
2. They elevate the fruits of the spirit above the gifts of the spirit (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)
3. Prophecy is about God’s instruction and not their personal prediction (Deuteronomy 18:18)
4. The intention is rooted in prayerfulness not pridefulness - they can be bold but their heart is to build. They want to lift up more than call out. (Ephesians 4:29)
5. The work of their prophecy is in humility and not for celebrity. They want to serve not be observed. They don’t prophet to profit. (2 Peter 2:1-3)

The evangelist has a “one” mentality….
One more person
One more family
One more teenager
One more neighbor
One more coworker
One more person who needs Jesus
Because heaven celebrates one!

Look what Jesus said in Luke 15:7 “I tell you that in the same
way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine
righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

We celebrate crowds……Heaven celebrates repentance
We count attendance…..Heaven counts transformed lives
We look at numbers…..God looks at individual people
SO does the Evangelist!
