Virtues, EXPLAINED!

God Himself is Truth. Therefore, if we belong to God, we must live truthfully — in small matters and in large ones, so that the witness we bear to the ultimate Truth of God shall always be taken seriously.

INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK —

In His mercy, Jesus sent His Apostles into ministry — and the Apostles are still ministering today. We see them in the sanctuary, in the confessional. They are our priests, sent to shepherd Christ’s sheep. This week, let’s pray for our shepherds.

Question of the Week — Jesus commissioned his 12 Apostles to carry on His missionary work of healing the sick and exorcising unclean spirits. Do you have a sense of mission for your life? What is it?

In this Sunday's Gospel (Matthew 9:36—10:8), Jesus looks upon the crowds with compassion, seeing them as sheep without a shepherd. He calls His disciples and sends them forth to proclaim the Kingdom of God. As baptized Christians, we too are called to be His disciples, sharing God's love through our words, actions, and service to others. May we respond generously to Christ's call and trust in His guidance as we bring hope and compassion to those we meet.

Today, June 11, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Saint Barnabas, an apostle and missionary who helped build up the early Church through encouragement, generosity, and bold witness to the Gospel. Known as the “son of encouragement,” Saint Barnabas reminds us that discipleship is not only about proclaiming Christ with our words, but also strengthening one another in faith and helping others recognize the gifts God has placed within them. May his example inspire us to encourage one another, serve the Church with generous hearts, and joyfully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Saint Barnabas, pray for us!
