What a great Labor Day weekend at Donelson First!

Yesterday, Pastor Jeff wrapped up our “May I Ask a Question?” series, and we’re so thankful for the questions and truths we’ve explored together over the past few weeks.

Last Sunday, we had the joy of celebrating Linda Thornton as she took the step of recommitting her life to Christ.

Here is Linda’s new life story:

Linda: “I was baptized at the age of 11 during a church revival. Several of my friends were being baptized, and I wanted to be baptized too. I continued attending church throughout my teenage years, but over time, I became frustrated with strict rules and expectations. I knew something was missing, so I eventually stayed away from church for many years.

After my husband’s death four years ago, I came to DF and was welcomed with open arms. I found the pastor and church family I had always wanted. Through this church family, I found my way back to Christ.

Today, I’m here to recommit my life to Christ, serve Him more, and bring others to know Him. I’m grateful and excited for what God has planned for me, and I want to spend the rest of my life serving Him.”

We’re so grateful to celebrate this new chapter with you, Linda. What a beautiful reminder that God is always calling us home. 🙌💙

Jesus taught us to pray. So we do.

This wall holds a small glimpse of the prayers being prayed throughout our church.

Prayers for people we love. Prayers for things we’re walking through. Prayers for healing, wisdom, provision, salvation, and direction. Prayers of praise and prayers that are still waiting for an answer.

We don’t always know what God will do with every prayer. But we know He hears us.

And we want to be a church that keeps bringing everything to Him.

If we can pray for you, send us a DM. Share what you’re walking through, what you’re trusting God with, or what you’re praising Him for. We’d love to pray with you—and we’d love to hear how God is working in your life.

Last Sunday, our Awana volunteers gathered for training and preparation, and we are so excited to welcome all of our little ones next week! 🥳

As we get ready for our first night, be praying for each child who walks through our doors - that they would have fun, build friendships, feel loved, and most importantly, grow in their relationship with Jesus. 🙏
