Glory to God, Holy Archangels Orthodox Academy held its first classes this past week! With 18 students on Wednesdays and 42 students on Fridays, we are grateful to have 5 Orthodox teachers, along with many parent assistants and volunteers, leading our children through history, geography, language arts, math, science, art, and catechesis. Highlights from the week included learning our school hymn, Apolytikion of the Bodiless Hosts, beginning our study on the book of Genesis with Father Paul, and learning about the science of light and refraction with Dr. Luminita Coman. The leaders and students would like to thank all of the generous donors who contributed to making this inaugural week possible and successful. Please continue to pray for our students, teachers, and parents as we set forth on this inaugural year of Holy Archangels Orthodox Academy.

Blessing Students & Educators

On August 9th, students and educators of all ages may gather at the front of the church and receive a blessing for a safe, edifying, and beautiful 2026-2027 school year! We always begin the year with a prayer asking for the Lord's blessing.

Dormition Fast Prayer Vigil

As Orthodox Christians, one thing that we can uniquely bring to the pro-life movement is our prayers. And since we are accustomed to joining and intensifying our prayers with fasting, what better time for focused pro-life prayer than during a fasting period of the Church?

The Orthodox Christians for Life offer a small collection of daily, pro-life prayers that have been paired with specific petitions, one for each day of the Dormition Fast. Join with other Orthodox Christians in supplication for the women, men, babies, and all those involved in and affected by abortion. May the Lord hear our prayers and guide our steps!

We had a beautiful weekend celebrating our patronal feast! Saturday evening Fr. Hans from St. Peter Antiochian Orthodox Church and Fr. Gustavo from The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and members of their parish joined us for Great Vespers followed by a time of fellowship enjoying delicious fast-friendly refreshments. And Sunday after Divine Liturgy we broke the fast together with a wonderful potluck feast. Sts. Peter and Paul, pray to God for us!
