🌿 What an amazing first day at Rainforest VBS! 🌿

Today, kids learned that God is our Creator! Our Bible Point reminded us that God made everything, and our memory verse was:

“Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom.” — Psalm 103:22

We had a fantastic day filled with worship, Bible learning, games, crafts, and lots of fun!

We can’t wait for Day 2 tomorrow! There’s still time to join us from 9:00 AM–12:30 PM for children who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade.

On Sunday, Pastor Noel continued our Faithfulness in a Compromised World series by walking through 1 Kings 18 and the powerful moment on Mount Carmel.

In this passage, Elijah challenges the people of Israel with a simple but direct question: “How long will you waver between two opinions?” Rather than choosing between God and false gods, many were trying to hold onto both—and living with divided hearts.

The message encouraged us to ask three important questions: What are the “Baals” in our lives—things we trust more than God? What spiritual areas have we allowed to fall into neglect and need to be rebuilt? And how long will we delay fully following the Lord?

Ultimately, the message pointed us to the gospel. Just as the fire fell on the sacrifice instead of the people, Jesus became our substitute—taking the judgment we deserved so we could be restored to God.

On Sunday, Pastor Noel continued our Faithfulness in a Compromised World series by teaching from 1 Kings 17 and showing us what faith looks like when life doesn’t make sense.

Through the story of Elijah and the widow, we were reminded that difficult seasons often cause what we believe about God to collide with what we experience in life. In those moments, some people drift away—but others remain anchored.

We saw that our circumstances are not a reliable measure of God’s love, and that God often uses trials to move us from self-reliance to deeper dependence on Him. We were also challenged to pray like Elijah—honestly, persistently, and with desperation.

Ultimately, the message pointed us to Jesus, who doesn’t just pray for life, but gives life to all who trust in Him.

This Sunday, Pastor Noel began a new series on the lives of Elijah and Elisha by taking us to 1 Kings 17 and reminding us that we are living in an “Elijah moment”—a time when truth is often redefined and faithfulness to God can feel difficult.

Through Elijah’s example, we were challenged to develop real courage—not by ignoring fear, but by first spending time in the presence of God. We were reminded that courage is formed before God long before it is displayed before others.

The message also pointed to a deeper issue in our world today—not just a list of visible problems, but a “drought of truth.” And as followers of Christ, we are called to stand firm, speak truth, and trust God to work through ordinary faithfulness.
