This past week, we were blessed to have Pastor Jay McCarl with us while Pastor Ron was serving in Peru on a missions trip.
On Sunday, Pastor Jay taught on our relationship with our earthly fathers and our Heavenly Father. One of the powerful reminders he shared was, “God is as God does.” He also challenged us with the thought that what we know about our fathers is often “more than we know, and less than we could.” It was a meaningful message about understanding our Father in heaven through His character, His actions, and His love for us.
On Tuesday night, Pastor Jay led our Young Adults through an incredible Biblical Dinner experience, exploring the historical and cultural context of the Last Supper and Galilean traditions. Around great food and even better fellowship, we spent several hours learning about the richness of Scripture and the world Jesus and His disciples lived in. It was a memorable evening filled with learning, laughter, and community.
On Wednesday night, Pastor Jay continued by teaching on the Galilean Wedding and the beautiful parallels it reveals throughout Scripture. He reminded us that marriage is not merely a contract—it is a covenant. Through the customs of a Galilean wedding, we were given a deeper understanding of God’s covenant relationship with His people and Christ’s love for His Bride, the Church.
Thank you, Pastor Jay, for investing in our church family and sharing God’s Word with such depth, insight, and passion.
