The historical Homestead Cemetery, founded in 1886, covers 34 acres of land in the Munhall area, and serves as the final resting place for over 15,000 individuals including several dozen Civil War soldiers. Notable memorials include many titans of industry from Homestead's industrial boom, well-known local business owners, three of the strike victims from the infamous 1892 "Battle of Homestead,"

local and State politicians and figureheads, and nationally recognized sports figures including several members of the Grays Negro League Baseball team such as Cumberland and See Posey, and Rufus "Sonnyman" Jackson. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to reviving and restoring this local treasure, but we do not have a funding source beyond generous donations from our community members.
