From June 5-7, the Western PA Annual Conference will gather In California, PA.
I will attend as pastor, Cathey Sirna will attend representing HPUMC. Char Sirna will be a youth page and Charles has offered to take some shifts transporting attendees.

Thank you to HPUMC for an amazing retirement party today and for all the kind and affirming words as well as all the good food! We knew something was up when everyone was wearing Pittsburgh sports clothing to worship. (We didn’t get the memo 😂) …and we didn’t know what to expect, but we definitely were surprised to receive a gift of season tickets for the 26/27 Pittsburgh Penguins season as well as some other cool Pittsburgh sports paraphernalia! With all that was going on, we were not able to take any photos, but we do have one with the Ellwanger and Spinenweber children before everything ended as well as some Judy sent to us.

Dear Homestead Park family and friends,

As many of you already know, I am retiring from my position as pastor in the United Methodist Church and from Homestead Park UMC.

It has been a pleasure serving in ministry with you for these past eight years, and I am grateful for the experiences we have shared. I wish you and the church the very best as you welcome your new pastor, Rev. Wade Berkey. I will do my best to support him during this transition.

I want to share the details regarding this change:

- Final Service: My last day in the pulpit will be Sunday, May 31.
- Month of June: I will attend the Annual Conference in California, PA, followed by my remaining vacation time.
- Pulpit Supply: Rev. Karen Hecht or Rev. Beverly Gross will fill the pulpit for all services in June.
- Official Start: Rev. Wade Berkey will become your full-time pastor on July 1.

As a reminder, while we will remain friends, Rev. Berkey will be your pastor as of July 1. I will no longer be involved in any pastoral responsibilities at HPUMC.

Charlie Sirna was confirmed as a member at HPUMC; he and his mom Cathey were able to attend a confirmation event today, and they had a wonderful experience meeting Bishop Sandra Steiner- Ball as well as other confirmands.
