Marriage Monday:
Let’s be real sisters… marriage is not easy. Though when we have Christ in it and seek His help it is easier than doing it without Him.
In all marriages, there are ups and downs. It is challenging sometimes to love your husband when you feel hurt, frustrated, disappointed, or offended.
It is all in how you are choosing to handle it. Are you choosing to do it your way? Some examples of what this can look like: lashing out (angry outburst), feeling entitled to order your husband in a certain area (control) instead of talking it out, etc.
If you are not careful, when things are not changing to be the way you think it should be, you may start ordering your husband around. This is not how God wants you to be.
One thing you cannot do is change someone. That is Gods job and not yours. You are to take those hurts frustrations, irritations, Disappointments, offenses to God and let go of them instead of homding on to it. By holding on to things, you hurt yourself most and your spouse in the process. Pay attention to your own fruits by watching your thoughts. Your thoughts are a playground that can turn the agreements you make into actions.
You are to take those negative things and pray. Imagine if you prayed blessings on your husband anf marriage every single time you feel hurt, frustrated, disappointed, or offended. Pray more and see what happens. Plant seeds of love in your husbands life through you actions; even though you don’t tje fruits riggt away. Trust Gods timing and trust His expectations.
Be sure to encourage your husband and pray for him.
It’s time you let go of your control and let God do what only He can. Allow God to reveal where change needs to happen in you sister. It really is worth it!
Journal this today with the Holy Spirit: what are you planting in the garden of your marriage?
God is always with you. It’s just that you have a choice to your free will. You have God and
other sisters who relate with you and understand what you are going through. You are not alone!
